Here is the change incoming.

1) End bosses will now only drop 1 token in the zone. This will be 100% guaranteed, and will be the only "dropped" token in the zone.
2) When an end boss dies, a "Merchant of Chance" will spawn. This merchant will sell tokens for platinum (yay plat sink) but will have a restricted number of tokens available depending on which tier you are in. Example: Tier 1 Merchant will have (1) Tier 1 token for sale. A Tier 2 merchant will have (1) tier 2 and (2) tier 1 tokens for sale, etc etc.
3) All Tokens will be given a right click ability called "Raiders Chance" and have 1 charge that will consume the token when used.
4) Raiders chance will have a variable chance to award one of the following options:
  • A Common drop any event/boss in the tier that the token is from
  • A Rare drop from any event/boss in the tier that the token is from
  • Random Server Generic Items (distillers, dyes, holiday items, etc)
  • An Artifact from THF past
5) Higher tier tokens will have a higher chance to award items from the Generic item set and Artifact item set
6) All tiers will have the same chance to award common or rare items from the tier the token is from
7) Tokens will remain tradeable and still function as a backflag when turned into Tunare.

Still getting all the lists of items together for each tier, but hoping to have it out in a few weeks.

This sounds awesome

So i read the flagging and trade properties remain the same? Meaning if i make a new char level it i can still flag it as normal with same token? To me this fix will just allow those with hoards of tokens to turn them in for items they have been clearing the named to get said item can now just turn in token with a chance of getting said item? For instance the Rare shoulder or ear or helm doesnt drop from luclin uplon the token click it may grant a chance for 1 of those 3 if we have all other items from mob?

Sounds like a great way of chewing up tokens! A tad elaborate but Vaion has tendencies in that direction :D . I look forward to playing games of chance with tokens!

Just to clarify a little; if you click the token and consume it, the code does the following:
1) checks to see if you win an artifact item (something that can no longer drop in game, etc)
2) if no to #1, it checks to see if you win a generic server item (distiller, dye, holiday items, etc)
3) if no to #2, it checks to see if you win a rare item from ANY mob in the zone that the token came from (most Raid zones have anywhere from 10-20 rare drops)
4) if no to #3, it awards a common drop

When the code picks a category you win within (1-4 above) it pulls a random item from the list of potential rewards. The item then goes through checks:
1) it checks to see if your class can use it. If no, it picks a different item until it finds one you can use.
2) it then checks to see if you have the item and if it is lore. If so, then it will pick a different item.
3) if by some miracle you have all of the items in the listings, then it moves into another category from the list above.

So in theory, you could use it to try and target specific items within a zone, but the chances will still be slim for you to be able narrow down to the very specific item. Unless you just fill your bank with potential awards I guess lol

It’s elaborate, but I like to think of it as an ultimate casino method. Let’s people help gear up others, Alts, newbies, while also putting plat as a resource again AND helps the rare farmers narrow down the possibilities of getting specific rates they have been searching for.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

That’s part of the idea. With this change plat becomes a needed commodity (tokens won’t be cheap) AND it opens up the tokens to be used as a trading source as well.

Plus this also opens the door for some unique features that I’ve been toying with for items that can only be found from token consumes (one of the artifacts gives you 100% dmg reduction for 6s when you get added to a NPCs hatelist). The token consuming opens up some fun avenues for awarding items for continuous play etc. plus so far I’ve made all the artifacts that can be rewarded tradeable

Will the tokens that are purchased from the NPC that spawns upon boss death, be no-trade? or Even lore for that matter?

For clarification, when you mention artefacts that were previously removed do you mean normal progression items that have been removed from the server at some point or do you mean the actual artefacts (unique to individuals)?

I wondered that also. Like the class coth rings etc.
