Aye the aggro stuff is fixed. I am just trying to figure out the crash on zone situation before I patch.

I have a level fix for the crash in mind, but I’d prefer to fix it at the base level which is why I haven’t rebooted yet.

FUCK YA.. sorry but i literally just jumped out of my seat and did like a victory lap around my office. I haven't found the issue, but after about 20ish hours of debugging I was able to isolate it down to one particular feature--which makes things SOOOOOO much easier to fix now.

So i found it!

And WHOA instance zones that use custom versions (vex thal, HoHonor, Christmas stuff) load about 3-4x faster. Granted I am on internal server, but still it's significantly more stable when zoning. I was able to jump back and forth between 3 different instances about 50 times without any crashing (Before it was crashing about 50% of the time).

Prepping the reboot now with the changes. If you guys are noticing any weird anomalies with zones, please let me know. I did pretty extensive testing, but still.

Code being built and reboot incoming in next 30 mins. Change log below:

Code:
o Fixed a bug where NPCs were able to aggro players from 3-4x their normal distance.
o Fixed a bug where aggro was not resetting after a player died.
o Added a few preventative measures to make sure item swaps, spell casting, and buff routines were not triggering before a player had fully loaded into a zone.
o Sped up the overall start-up/shut-down of instance zones for stability reasons.
o Fixed a crash dealing with instances that used unique versions (Vex Thal, Hall of Honor, Dreadspire, etc).
o Fixed a memory leak when NPCs spawned. This was leading to higher than intended memory usage in static zones where npcs were constantly being killed and respawning.
o Fixed a performance issue when zones with unique versions were starting up. The server was loading data twice from the database which was causing slower than normal zoning times. These zones should be loading significantly faster for players.

Something is now wrong after reboot I am guessing.

I am one toons screen I can see all my other toons and then can't all I can see if pets and NPC's. If I move any other toons I can then see them but they disappear again. I remember something similar from a couple years ago where toons would flash in and out now they just stay invisible until I move them.

Just now I could see nothing but pets. I hit my stick that brings all my toons to Otho and they all appeared.

I have been able to duplicate the same issue in Guild Hall, Vale, HOH and Drakeon instance.

Got this fixed - was left over from other things I was testing for performance with sending position updates to clients. Rebooting in a few to fix it ;)

There's nothing that raises confidence more in the fix being found than the support guy working on it shouting "FUCK YA!" ... maybe i'll try it at work, rofl.

lol it still took me about 4 hours after that moment to actually fix the issue, but I did. And i found a couple extra issues along the way. :D
