I just looked at the title of the post (Pre-Tier 2 content balance) and felt a little dumb cause I was recommending you jump into Tier 2 content, but I guess my main point was don't just assume that you are limited to LDoNs and Tier 1 content (PoF trash and Ssra).

I remember thinking the same thing a couple months back because I didn't think I could even kill anything in the Tier 2 zones. So I figured I would get a full set of LDoN armor. I saved up my plat and tried to haggle a couple of prices down on adventure tokens. In the end it just wasn't worth it to try and buy all the gear I needed. I bought several Tokens of Vulak and it is a lot better than grinding LDoNs or plat.

at this time, the kael class sets are junk and completely obviated by stillmoon trash drops (which can easily be acquired from zone entrance rots). the only requirement for stillmoon is a vulak token which currently sells for 5-8k (i.e. dirt cheap).

I swore the two characters I used Vulak Tokens with only got flagged for ToV, not like how an Emp kill is, which flags you for both Stillmoon and ToV.

when you hail the tier 2 fairy after having handed a vulak token to Tunare, the fairy will only offer you to be ported to TOV.
However, if you tell her "stillmoon temple" she port you there.

First and foremost; I never really noticed any real issues leveling from 1 to 70-T1. The biggest difficulties I found were this:

At level 70 for someone that is full Chaotic geared in a bot duo/small group scenario, mobs in Chardok are a little tough, maybe a slight (and I mean slight) reduction in HP is advisable.

Kael Drakkel [with exception of named] mobs hit way to hard for a group of new 70's. I have a partial donor, mixed T4-6 geared Paladin with the T6 BP and T6 augged with some event augs and such, 40k HP 9Kac and was trained by an idiot the other day helping friends out and was shocked that I was nearly overwhelmed. I think maintaining high HP on the giants is cool, they are giants, but I think their attack rating is a bit on the high side, nearly equivalent to T2-3 mobs. For a group rocking shoddy gear they don't stand a chance without help from higher tiered characters. Since the Kael gear is a progression necessity to move on to Tier 1 mobs, Kael needs to be toned down slightly.

Ssra -- What a huge leap this is from 70exp and 70+group zones. I took a group of T3 geared alts to help a friend in need here and to my surprise found myself in several sticky situations and even suffered a wipe on the named mini boss in the basement. Unless you can manage to pull off a raid (considering most new 70's [truly new 70's] haven't made a ton of friends and are typically unguilded pre-T3/5; this is very difficult if not rather improbable) with like 2 full groups of "experienced" new 70's (I'm thinking non-donor/non-plvl/non-twink true progression toons with minimal -- say 50 AA's still) you don't stand much of a chance against any bosses and will have a very hard time navigating the corridors with the thick aggro concentration and the tough to separate mobs.

Also I realize this is a step beyond the scope of your request, but I would add Stillmoon into the mix also. Ever notice the giant jump in difficulty from Ssra trash to Stillmoon trash? I have not seen such a difficult jump in any series of tiers, T2 to T3, T3 to T4, continuing up to T6 as this. Now once you get past Stillmoon, moving on to Veeshan's from here is pretty reasonable.

just my 2 cents

that perfectly describes the situation i find myself in atm.
with a full group of full chaos geared toons, i really do not know how to progress.

epics..yea..with the things available in the bazaar i honestly rather get those.

charm upgrade. that is the only thing i can work on - but i had no chance against queen in chardok sofar.

what can i do now?
two options imho: farm cash in sebilis and buy stuff in bazaar - or beg for help from higher tiered people.

Don't take this the wrong way, but this stuff can't be all that hard!

This stuff was slightly difficult when it was new content, when bazaar gear wasn't an option. But now, with the amount of gear available from events, world bosses, misc stuff PLUS sellable T8 spells, T8 people always asking to help...

I'm glad that you're saying it's hard. It should be. It's going to be hard going all the way up, tier to tier. Just be glad they allow 3rd party programs now and people can easily box 6 chars.

any advice then pls?

i know you fought through it somehow in you should feel good about it.

but the thing here that feels strange, is that suddenly at this point you hit the wall..

all smooth and easy while leveling up, exploring new stuff, great fun!
ding 70 - cool let's get some gear and AAs. chaotic armor quest? sounds fun!

all said and done, rushed through all that and - bonk. what now?

edit: btw i am not glad about the 3rd party program thing. this way i HAVE to play alone or with an RL friend.
otherwise people would be forced to look for groups.
