I tried to cast / engage all the toons as much as I could. Couldn't find a way to lag, but like I said it might be different for someone with 24 characters vs. the 10 available to me.
Not sure if it matters, but I brought the following: 1 bard, 2 necros, 1 magician, 1 druid, 1 shaman, 1 cleric, 1 warrior, 1 enchanter, 1 shadowknight.
Also not sure if it matters, but I had all the following going on (in attempts to optimize activity happening with just 10 characters):
I had bard singing / attacking the whole time. I had the enchanter casting debuffs. I had the shaman, druid, and cleric healing. All characters had a pet (Draekon pets, plus necro/magician bp pets). I had all available buffs from all classes active (including the shaman's gladiator and spirit of lion) as well as enchanter godly rune buffs. Shadownight was casting Death March on everyone. Warrior was spamming flurry and using Hurricane Strike when off cooldown (both the disc and the warrior class belt).
Tried my best to lag, could not. Can't vouch for someone with twice as many toons doing all the above as well.
