ROF2 defensives?

So I ran through the Citadel of the Worldslayer (the exact same way I would have the other dozens of times I've done it when farming) and something feels very off defensively.

Normally - Eschew can pull the entire (and probably more) first boss room (and even room right after the first boss). If I want to heal myself, I don't even have to use a defensive (such as Defender's Guard RK3). When I do use this defensive though, I take almost no damage using the donor legs absorb on cooldown. Makes sense, as T7 content is trivial to how geared Eschew & company is. In fact, all content T8 and below is no threat really.

With ROF2 today - Eschew ate dirt several times from mobs and proc'd DI even while the defensive was active. On the first boss room pull I had to use (in this order when I ate dirt and DI proc'd) 80k donor bracer heal + rk3 defenders, leading to another DI proc (all within a few seconds), leading to using HoH evolved chest clicky (90% damage mitigation) which finally made it feel like normal when finishing off the group... I even did some smaller pulls later in the dungeon and was caught off guard a few times by very high damage being taken.

That's significantly different than normal and i have farmed this citadel repeatedly because of the drop rates prior to the changes. So either there was something very broken before with the instance/with warriors, or something is broken now

The mobs are dying at about normal speed it feels. So that's a bonus, because if they lived longer than they did I probably would have died somewhere.

Anyways, curious if anyone else feels any differences defensively in the game similar to above (not necessarily limited to Warriors). :D

Thanks for the feedback. On test I fiddled with a server rule called 'Live combat rounds' and left it on, which did make things a bit harder. So if it continues to be overly challenging we'll switch it off and see how things go then. We don't want to be too hasty though, maybe things were too easy before? We can see what the general consensus is :)

Interesting. I'll have to dive into some other raids and see the difference. I'll post back with how I feel :)

I had a similar experience although I'm not pulling the whole room at once. My HP are yo-yoing around pretty hard vs a single mob in there where I was killing 3 at once w/o much risk before.

Also when I killed Kraxt, 3 of Uzur spawned. I got 3 of the shouts and 3 of him showed on tracking. Was able to confirm that 3 were actually up with my rogue. Don't think I can kill 3 of him at once so didn't try.

Uzur popping three times sounds really weird, no idea what could cause that.

At any rate, I'm working on upgrading cotw right now (it needs a bit of love and there are a couple bugs I've squashed). I did wonder if that might cause a clash as I was working on it but I can't see how that would cause the 3 pop because I'm using a different version of the zone and spawns while I work.

Either way, I'm going to be ready to release the upgrade soon (next day or two) and I doubt this issue will persist then unless it's an issue with the rof2 upgrade (but again, can't imagine why).

If anyone else sees this issue in the meantime please let me know.

Once cotw is upgraded, the next thing will be the new t9 content.

Are you referring to the damage differences I mentioned, Ydiss?

I tried to do some usual pulls in raids and I see the same thing where it is just significantly more dangerous to pull many mobs. It almost feels like I just take way more damage than before. I don't know how the "live combat rounds" works, but if that is the reason for the difference then I have concerns about keeping it around.

I like to play my single group, and with that group I play my 1 tank. I spent a lot of time during HoH's release (much prior to many boss nerfs) trying to solo tank all of the t8 content. I can do this easily now after perfecting my group's armor and strategy (minus the gate keeper, obviously not designed for a small group). On fights like Volkara with so many spiders, I can't imagine being able to do the same if 5-10 T7 mobs can beat me down and get DI procs (and still do serious damage through defensives). Same concern goes for the Jantarx encounter where I tank all of the shades around the boss, or even for Redfang in DSK1 with all of the bats.

I'm also not at all a perfect example of defining way to easy vs way too difficult for the server. My group is decked out in rare T9 armor/augments. So pulling a dozen or two dozen T7 mobs with my group shouldn't define whether things were too easy before (as Peterigz mentioned that maybe things were too easy before). I think my group's power is far past the requirement for T7, and if groups of mobs are so dangerous for me I can only imagine what they might do to a group entering T7.

I will try to make time tonight to test the fights where I have to tank many things and see how different that feels just to confirm my concerns.

No I'm just talking about the 3 spawn issue gnabgib mentioned. And just mentioned that cotw will be updated a bit (I'm not touching damage).

We'll discuss the live combat rounds rule separately.

I got a chance to go back and attempt it again. Good news, only one Uzur this time. So I guess that was just a fluke.

Bad news, I got killed by a single Noc right after killing Kraxt.

The Noc's are doing something that does a big chunk of damage, even on a highly donor'd out t9 geared tank. I'm not seeing it in logs though.
