Rallos Zek and Tactics

Need the RZ encounter checked please.
Before the are you sure you are doing it correctly questions come up. Yes the same way we have done it since 2012.

Before I took my hiatus I could do him with 12 toons no problem all with bane weapons/wands. After the third fail a couple days ago I dusted off 3 other toons and went in with 15 and failed. I also had 5 Drakeon pets with bane weapons and mage pet and failed 2 more times.
It was late I was tired so gave up.
Went in the next day since he was still up with 15 toons and Freydis came in with another 7 with bane weapons(I think). We almost hit the timer with that many firing and slashing away but we did win.

Also to be noted when you fail, you used to be able to camp all toons out and come back in and he would re-spawn. Now I have to gate back to The Vale, run back, run across zone, COH and drop another 500pp.

Which leads me to another question. Can we add Tactics to a porter in the guild hall yet?

RZ was overdue a review a while back. It's on our list to do but we've not specifically changed anything so I don't know why it's so different for you. But even if there's a slight difference in combat mechanics between now and pre rof2 considering how specifically tuned this encounter is, it's possible that could totally throw the balance off.

This encounter has a long history and is pretty unique. I remember when we first did it with a 27 raid, it felt like a huge accomplishment and I think the number of guilds that had completed the zone by then was quite low.

I don't want it to lose that sense of unique achievement but we only finished the zone when we were already well into T7 so the drops were mostly pointless. It's been tweaked a whole lot since then and also to allow slightly longer before RZ depops and just before I joined the development team our second guild were gearing up to give RZ a try.

I'd noticed a lot of discussion around completing the event with 12 or fewer and most of these cases were with a number of donor pets (and all T8 or higher gear). What I was keen to see is whether a non donor guild with a sensible raid size but with a fully T6 geared setup with experience beating the encounter could do.

We had 18, were finishing up T6 content to fully gear and augment and every character has a pet to give them the zek pet weapons. It was going to be our final task before moving to T7, because the loot is "good" T6 loot.

If we could beat it with that set up, even if it took a few attempts, I'd feel happy it's tuned right. If we didn't get close to beating it before the timer ran out then I feel it needs to be tuned down otherwise its value as part of progression is diminished.

We didn't get around to it though, I've sort of been busy with other things

However, early on when I began helping lillu out we suggested a few changes and fixes to the zone so actually gathering the weapons should be a lot less painful now. We'll get around to that test soon (might do it first thing after release actually).

Chances are, from what you say, it might need to be rebalanced anyway.

Gathering weapons was MUCH less painful than before I had two newer toons that didn't have them and it was a simple task to get them compared to what it was previously. With out saying too much are doubles intended on that?
I will note I have been after the dusty arrow but I have yet to see it drop at all.

For dual weapons yes.

Not sure what you mean by dusty arrow? Do you mean the dark arrow? That drops quite rarely in the instances I think?

I don't think rangers ever had a Zek weapon, except for the normal melee weapon choices.

That can change by the way. I'll look into adding a bow with RZ bane damage. But the dark arrow of tactics probably works ok once you've made it.

Yes Dark Arrow is what I meant. You can tell I've never had a ranger until now.

Dark Arrow shows it should work it has Tactical Blast as the proc. I also stuck a Rallos Sharpener in the bow so it has bane damage now as well.

Any update on this?

I found my casters weren't clicking their wands properly and fixed that.
8 casters spamming wands.
7 Melee toons with bane weapons.
6 Drakeon pets with bane weapons.
Mage pet with bane weapons.

So no instead of failing at like 60% I am failing at 20%.
Sure I can make and add more toons but this wasn't an issue previously.
Wouldn't even mess with this but someone decided to make the tactics spell required for progression.
Which oddly enough the one toon that doesn't have it is because his cleric donor makes up for it.

Gonna Rez this thread real quick.

I just got my Dark Arrow of Tactics for my ranger. I noticed I didnt land a single attack on Rallos Zek during my fight nor did i have the bane proc Tactical Blast. He's using donor bow, but i dont think what bow i use matters does it? I checked the bow on vallon it doesnt have bane on it. Was curious if this is a known bug or if I might just be overlooking something.

I didnt think stats/procs/focus effects other than %mods worked on ammo items.
