Upcoming Cleric Donor 1.0 Weapon Change

This isn't so much being posted for a discussion, but more so that everyone is aware of what is about to happen prior to it going live with the next reboot.

A few updates ago, we made the cleric donor 1.0 an AoE based heal to allow for some choice in which donor to use. The donor 1.0 being an AoE heal with lower values, and the donor 2.0 being group only with higher values. Each have their benefits and detriments, but something has been brought to our attention that needs addressing.

So with the next reboot, the following will take affect:

o Cleric Donor 1.0 Weapon Hammer of the High Priest has had its cure counters reduced from 18 down to 6.

Reasoning:
Based on feedback we have received and looking into the spells ourselves, the AoE cure allows too much ability to mitigate debuffs that require cures. While we did not want to "nerf" the donor 1.0 to continue to allow optimal playing styles, we strongly felt something needed to be done to address the issue. So our thoughts with dropping the cure counters is to still allow the click to be useful as an AoE heal and a cure, but to limit the curing abilities to a more manageable level.

The cleric Donor 2.0 Weapon Flindara, Beacon of Light remains the same as a group Heal/cure with a 36 cure counter.


Feel free to leave your comments, concerns and/or questions. But once again, I will stress, this is not being posted as an open discussion on what should be done. The development team has already decided on the course of action and wanted to make sure that the player base is aware of the upcoming change.

I 100% agree that it needs to be nerfed because it is wayyyyy too OP, but lowering the decrease in counters really wont matter for curses (maybe all debuffs, not sure). The reason is because "5 : Effect type : Remove Detrimental" will remove spells like creeping doom regardless of weather or not it has 2000 counters or 1 left. A single cast of the hammer can cure an entire raid from creeping doom even if some players have 50 counters left on it.

Well that's interesting to know. Modified this in the next spell file release. Creeping Doom was not set to be "undispellable". You will have to actually cure the counters now.

Are we aware that if Creeping Doom goes to counters and doesn't allow remove detrimental, then no donor cleric weapon weapon (whether 1.0 or 2.0) will completely cure 100% of Creeping Doom save for a select few when the most perfect timing is met?

Example:
00:00:00 Creeping Doom is cast on player 1. 50 counters remain.
00:00:04 Flindaria, the Beacon of light finishes casting. 14 counters remain.
00:00:10 Creeping Doom is cast on player 2. 50 counters remain.
00:00:36 Flindaria, the Beacon of light is recast the absolute soonest it can be recast. Player 1 is cured. Player 2 has 14 remaining counters.
00:00:46 Player 2 is dead.
00:01:04 Flindaria, the Beacon of light is recast the absolute soonest it can be recast.

The situation is uglier for the cleric donor 1.0 situation, unless there are a minimum of 4 cleric donor 1.0s being chain casted.

I know it's not up for debate, do what you will, but this change will make any type of boxing for end-game hoh nigh impossible without clever macros reporting who has been cursed.

Could you perhaps put in an emote for the curse for single target cures? Otherwise I'll promptly shut up and thank you for the heads up =)

Creeping doom has always been on counters. I've 12-boxed Chaos and Zenu before the donor change went into effect and I don't use any clever macros for cures. It's very possible. And you don't even need the donor weapon to do it.

It takes 2 cast of the grp heal spell to take Creeping doom off, It takes one cast of the donor 2.0 to take it off the grp, and it takes 1 cast of 1.0 before the changes to clear it off whoever is close enought. If all grps dont have a cleric in the grp then the 1.0 comes in handy to keep them alive. I guess im not quite understanding the change that will happen with the next reboot. Will the 1.0 now have to be cast more than once to take it off?

Creeping doom has 50 curse counters. They will need to be removed by spells with "Decrease curse counters by X" such as remove greater curse, word of vivication, word of strategy, cleric donors etc. The effect "remove detrimental" will no longer instantly remove it like the cleric donors have. With this change to the donor it would take 9 casts of the cleric donor 1.0 by itself to cure 50 curse counters. So now, people may need to find other ways to deal with creeping doom and other debuffs.
