No exploits that I can think of, guess they just dont want casters doing damage with melee. Back in the day the ssra necklace could be used by melee classes from inventory. I do not think there are any other such items that would enable melee classes to get huge dps so dunno what was wrong with non melee using it. Even with focus and manaflare 3 dps not gonna get close to melee classes. Casters complained for a long time that manaflare did not stick with other spells that increased damage, familiars, criti chance modifiers etc so they had to choose between one and it was a simple fix of just putting it on a different buff slot but never done. When they finally found a use for manaflare without the need for stacking its removed lol.

i am very sad =( This functionality allowed my druid to do some actual dps. Without his dps is pathetic. He has now been reduced to a walking, talking epic click and a heal macro. My druid was my main. I LOVED playing him. playing my druid on this server was the most fun i have ever had playing on any game or server. Now he is nothing but a epic click for bosses and a heal macro. He might as well just be some one's box toon now =(

Please please please reconsider the change. This is pretty much death to my toon. There is no fun in click a heal macro every so often =(

The change was put in for exploitable reasons that I won't go into. These are the options that we had:

a) remove the line entirely, which would have included removing the Caster Auras/Mana Flare/Mana Inferno (T8 Mana flare line) and a couple other spells similiar to this.

or

B) block out all procs on the spell.


Obviously we went with option B to atleast keep the spell lines in the game.

This won't be going back for the time being. I have added it to my ever expanding list to look into, but for now this is how it will remain.

given the choices they made the right one - if i had to chose b/w my cleric not being able to add a miniscule ammount of extra dps with a weapon proc and them taking away MF lines overall - yeah its an obvious choice.

yeah being able to add a bit extra dps with a healer was nice, but honestly - thats not a what a healer is for 8\. and id rather see a few priest classes get a dps hit than the majority of caster classes - some who are hurting enough as is right now.
