Never played with autologin as awhile ago I wrote a script using AHK to pull the unique ID for each everquest instance and input my password and press enter.
Use it with a .bat script to launch my characters in order and it opens up a dummy window between each group of 6 as a visual separator for me.

I think autologin is pretty sweet minus server ID's changing. Would be perfect for THF private login however as the value will never change.

I'm following the syntax as described above, however, I'm unable to make any character past the first entry in my .ini work - the first logs in fine but the rest sit on account screen and don't even get the name in there. I'm using WinEQ, but the shortcuts on my desktop are identical save for the account name. I'm at a loss for what it could be... I have to assume it's WinEQ but it sounds like people have gotten it to work for them. :(

login to game do /plugin mq2autologin unload
then /plugin mq2autologin
does it error out? might not have the right version of the plugin for titanium.

Since you mentioned wineq as well, can try having the headings in your ini file reference the wineq profile name and not station name (if they are different)

Nilbus, might you have any feedback for me? For simplicity sake, I created WinEQ Profile names that match the Station Name of the character I want to log in. I've tried launching via a shortcut on desktop (generated through Create Desktop Shortcut in WinEQ) as well as directly launching the profile in WinEQ. Of course, any time I amend code I reload MQ, and AutoLogin is set to load. Unfortunately, both ways of launching yield the same result: the 1st character logs in, but fails for 2-6 and leaves me on the login screen with no username/password. If I amend my .ini to use the Instance # method, it works as intended. It seems that Station Names only works for the first profile listed, as if I change the ordering of the profiles the first always works, with 2-6 failing. So I don't think it's my .ini settings (as the difference in syntax is minimal) but I just can't figure it out...

Is it possible that I need to compile a new version of the MQ2AutoLogin script? No clue how to go about finding a correct version to compile though...

[Settings]
KickActiveCharacter=1
InstantCamp=0
UseStationNamesInsteadOfSessions=1
UseINIServerList=1

[ServerList]
HiddenForest=12 (using private login so no worries about #)

[WinEQ Profile 1]
Password=XXXXXXXX
Server=HiddenForest
Character=XXXXXXXXX

[WinEQ Profile 2]
Password=XXXXXXXX
Server=HiddenForest
Character=XXXXXXXXX

etc.

Question just because I'm unclear. Let's say your WinEq profile name is Dreos and the account name is DreosAcct.

Are you doing:

[Dreos]
Password=XXXX
Server=HiddenForest
Character=Dreos

or

[DreosAcct]
Password=XXXX
Server=HiddenForest
Character=Dreos

I believe I do the second. I'll double check when I get to my computer with EQ on it. I use WinEQ as well, but as each instance stores the proper account name and has it auto populated, it should work with WinEQ by using the account name, not the profile name. If that makes sense at all. Probably not - been a long day :P

I've made the WinEQ profile name the same as the Station Name. All my character names are different than Station Name. Example below using the first 2 toons I load

[StationName1]
Password=XXXXX
Server=HiddenForest
Character=Malistari

[StationName2]
Password=XXXXX
Server=HiddenForest
Character=Gurneyman

Maybe I should try changing the WinEQ profile to something other than the Station Name?

for me 99% of my chars account name match the char. Nilbus is the exception. I have the profiles named after character, and the ini shows the station name. My ini below seems to match yours and I can open all the sessions and it auto fills.

My desktop shortcuts do not include the /login: switch like some do. I have shortcuts to the wineq profile.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\WinEQ2\WinEQ2.exe" /plugin:WinEQ2-EQ.dll "Nilbus" for example.

Was out of town for a week so I didn't get to test again until last night. Accounts 1-3 work, but 4-6 fail. Could it be due to my Station Names being really similar? Account 4 is where they start to "overlap" in syntax, ex: account 3 is "station1name" and account 4 is "station1name1."

I suppose I could have tested this by switching the ordering of accounts 3 and 4, but that didn't occur to me last night during troubleshooting... so wondering if anyone else has experienced issues with similarly named Station Accounts.

Hmm, odd. I have several account names with stationname1, stationname2, stationname3, etc and they all work fine.

Are you opening the windows one by one?
