Stick Command

Hail Noble Adventurers!

I hear much about the /stick command in mq2, and how it's the next best thing to sliced gnome..... yet... when I try it, my party decides to run hither and yon without much concern for where I am going... I recall that even autofollow in EQ wasn't as wonky for me.

Is there, perhaps, some snippet of wisdom that I have missed? I have never successfully used a third party program, and only recently encountered any of them.

My command line looks like this;

/pause 5,/bca //target <me>
/bca //stick

I have tried to use values after the stick command, but that has made no difference. I insert the pause because it's something I've done forever...

I welcome all comments other than SK's are boneheads. That comment will cause me to slay halfling villages.....

Sorry I cant awnser your question as I main an SK therefore I am a bonehead, however Id like to further your question a bit. All I know for mq is to 1 by 1 /stick with all my toons. I was wondering if someone with even basic mq knowledge could post just a few basic commands for those of us who like to box more toons than we can count. Such as how to make all chars stick at the same time. And possibly how i could send my melees in to attack, my ranger to shoot, and my necro to send pet it. Personally id rather do everything else manually after that, however if Im soloing (boxing) higher teir content. My biggest issue.is right on the pull. Trying to get my team on the mob 1 by 1 and still have time to get a heal off before my tank splats

the best is "/stick hold"

maintains a stick even after a target change.

I'm not sure why stick command isnt working well for you. I have had awesome results with it (no more toons doing the circle of death run! haha). As far as i know, even the basic MQ2 build comes with this plugin, but make sure you have it and have it loaded. It is called mq2fps. It makes the forces the framerate for un-active windows to like 0.5 fps or something very low, which helps with lag and FPS on your active window tremendously. to check if you have it use /plugin list.

a lot of the questions about the basic commands can be found on the getting started forums/post on the MQ2 website, there is also a MQ2 wiki site that is very helpful with command syntax.

/bct Soandso sends the following command to that one client.
/bca sends the following command to all your clients EXPECT the one whom you issued the command from.
/bcaa sends the following command to ALL clients, including the one who issued the command.

Make sure your screen refreash rate is the same on all toons and equals the same refreash rate as your monitor, this helps keep all your toons moving at the same rate

Also i use

/bca //tar goothulhu
/pasue 4
/bca //stick 10

works great

I am still bearing the brunt of my team being too unintelligent to simply follow. Yet, it's not too much of a problem as I use coh a lot. I will continue to play with it and find where the error is.

One thing you may want to try instead of using the /target command is to use an ID


Example:

/stick id ${Me.ID}

This removes the need for your toons to target you and otherwise waste actions in a macro.

All great replies except for 1 oversite. You all gave him EQBC commands. lol It sounds like he's just using MQ2. If you only use MQ2, the stick command seems worse that /fol but if you use EQBC as well, it seems to work fine.

whats the point of using MQ2 without EQBC? You can't send your commands to your other clients without it.

When I first found out about MQ2, I only used it for /stick and the map, both of which worked fine on the other server I played on, then I found out about EQBC and that's when I started boxing. I'm just thinking that some people only know about MQ2 and may not know about EQBC is all.
