This is a very good point, and definitely something that needs to be considered. People who play here generally play more than one toon, or at least level up more than one while they are here. If you think of it like this, then everyone experiences most if not all of the content. The content is definitely expansive now, but is it expansive enough for people to level up twice, even with the current 3x XP rate? I don't think it is.

I don't know, it's a tough call and there are so many different angles to go at it from. However, judging from what was just pointed out I don't think 1x XP is the best idea. I still stick to what I said earlier about 2x XP (atleast for the zones that are already in the game).

Hrm. I voted yes, but I'm not totally sure how strongly I feel about that. I don't usually get a ton of time to play, I have 2 small kids I look after all day when my wife is at work, I work afternoons and it's already 12:30 am by the time I get home. So yeah, I like the increased exp, makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something in the hour/hour and a half I get to play.

That being said, I'm not a fan of flying through content and missing a large part of the game. Sure it's a lot of fun to be able to walk up to a dragon and slap it across the face, but there can be a ton of just as compelling content/quests/events created for lower levels too. Sure, goblins aren't as epic as dragons, but fun can still be had with them if used properly.

Problem there is that hard vs easy is not something that can be easily defined. When Bresh gets back, we're planning to do all Ssra named with 4 people so we consider that easy, but then again I'm sure the guys in Help Desk a week ago wouldn't agree ... not that you'd say it's hard, but surely not easy. Same issue with Chardok, I can duo anything in there, but I remember a time when it was sure death.

Not saying it's a bad thing, but asking the question, how do you define what is easy or hard?

Personally, I just level Koeril to 53 in a matter of only 2 days completely solo and no help from anyone. I estimate I could hit 70 in 4 days which to me seems WAY too fast considering I only played him part time.

I agree sometimes it's not easy to define what is and isn't hard for certain people or classes... but I'm just picking the option I was given that I like and hoping for the best ;)

I joined this server because of the xp rate. Eq was going to be originally baised on pay by hour play they changed that idea in the 12th hour but didnt change the game. So the Grind was left in. I choose this server because it took the grind out. Mater of fact it took everything i hated about eq out, dont go changing it now.

When you can plow to 70 in a day or 2 there is definitely room to lower the rate.

Keep it custom though imo live was brutal slow.

I voted to reduce it as well, I leveled to 70 pretty quick, and the 'grind' to 70 was honestly pretty enjoyable, but I didn't get to complete all the quests in the zones I leveled in, because I leveled too quickly.

Now that I think of it, I'm kinda torn. Of course I think leveling with exp is way inflated - that hasn't changed. However, then I got to thinking ... if we change the AAxp rate to 66% of what it is ... wow - I would only have 400 AA. Granted I know others have become much more proficient at gaining AA's than I, but still there is a huge difference.

I've seen lot in the vein of discussion which I also joined in on (regular xp) but what about AAxp? Based on my own leveling, I'm not sure if I want that changed.

You're opening up a new progression line and really that's an awesome feature.

Personally I probably won't use it due to the leveling options I have available with 8 level 70 characters already, but I may do a guild event where we all make new characters and test for debugging purposes.

I feel like high end content should be the focus, that's where we are really enjoying the game. I already spent hours on the new crushbone quest for an item that I won't use, but just to test the quest for myself.

The main reason I like The Hidden Forest is I don't have to solo grind for weeks on a character to get to max level, if I want to try a new class for whatever reason I can do it in days instead of months.

I don't mind slowing down the normal exp rate to allow folks to enjoy the content more. I think the speed we can level to 70 is a might fast. However, I would not like to see a slow down on aa exp rates. Remember we need around 104 aa points to just max out Defensive abilities (which are very critical). Then offensive takes a ton more, then special abilities are even more. I generally feel I need over 200 aas to have the basics covered. This is not a trivial number of aas to attain with our current aa exp rate. If it took me twice as long per aa the grind (and aa exp is a grind) would be brutal.

Bresham has over 770 aas now, but many of those are attained from slaughtering in Valor helping my other characters gain aas. The investment is a huge number of hours that if it were doubled I doubt I would have done.

So again, the normal rate I agree could be lowered without adverse impact, but the aa rate shouldn't be lowered. :-)

I can agree with Bresham.

I think normal xp could be tweaked/lowered a little bit but AA exp should stay the same.



In all honesty, after thinking about it a little more.


I would rather keep all exp the same and have some more content added.
- Harder/Custom/Longer Spawn raid mobs
- Custom AA's
- Etc
