Voted no, I think a 3 box limit is good and remember this is coming from a 5-boxer. The amount of content I can box on my own is ridiculous.

Ok the 6 boxing thing i think is amazing to be honest. i have 3 and 4 boxed before but thats about my limit but if you are capable of doing that then I say you should be able to. I think that the concept of THF is to get people to play together in groups but I think that for those who may have odd hours they may not have that option. Should they be limited on what content they can access because more people are not logged on? I think if we had 100+ logged on most of the time then it would be different but because the server is still growing, I voted yes.

voted no for my own personal reasons

however if 6boxing is still allowed i would graciously ask that LDON be exempt and have its own 3box limit if possible.

That in my opinion would be a very acceptable compromise. Limit the boxing in the New LDoN stuff coming out and allow those who multi box to do so with existing mobs and zones.

I voted yes, but with restrictions.

I myself don't box. I have tried it before, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. I don't have any problems whatsoever with someone wanting to 6-box, after all, I wouldn't want someone telling me I couldn't play the way that I find most enjoyable, so why should we judge a different playstyle?

The only restrictions I would have is if 6-boxing is causing problems for the server, such as causing it to crash or lag, or clogs up the login process. At this point, it infringes on everyone else trying to play, and I don't think that's right.

I don't see why 6-boxers can't do the LDoNs either. I mean, they are instanced zones, and unless there's a reason why it would negatively affect the server (such as having a limited number of zones and people having to queue up to do a certain zone - at that point, it's only fair to drop 5 toons and form a group so that other people can enjoy LDoN as well).

In the end, it's just a matter of play style. Of course, some 6-boxers might miss out on some group fun, but as long as their play style doesn't infringe on anyone else, I have no quarrels whatsoever with letting players 6-box.

i vote yes, what if they want to have one char working on maxing skills on the zombies and the others farming and then one lvling? then what if u need a 3 man team to do a boss for a quest but noone is online your lvl who is willing? u never know, sure it can be misused but still most people guilded atleast would drop a alt or bot so they can let a friend join. sometime noone wants to help with epics, so boxing would be a GOOD thing for that sorry but if your a range user u cant tank summoning mobs, they hit 3times normal damage, like they are a darn monk with warrior ac and hps, and cleric heal spells.

Voted yes, so few people play 5 or more so i dont think it's a big issue. And like other's above say, most of will gladly swap a box for a player if the opportunity arises.

Voting yes, I live in Japan and play at really odd hours, a lot of the time, there is no one online I can group with. I really don't enjoy 4-5-6 boxing and don't if I can get away with it, but there are certain mobs / encounters that I can do if no one else is around if I can 6 box. With the current restrictions, it hinders what I'm capable of doing.

I also see the side of concern for people boxing 6 chars and blowing through content, and making it a solo type thing instead of using others / guild members etc.

I'm not against the 3 boxing limit, but I like the freedom of being able to box mobs / encounters if there is no one else online to help.

I voted yes.
Personally, I can do a decent job with 2, a poor job with 3, and would consider doing 4 if i can find a way to make it so I can see all 4 chars at once- right now I can only see 2 at once on my dual monitor setup. I would never consider 6 boxing.

I think that the changes to make certain zones instanced, with guild specific spawn timers will eliminate any issues of boxers taking high end content. If my buddy and I want to kill off mobs in NTOV, and each multibox to do it- it will only affect myself and my guild.

I do not think that 6 boxers would really have much of an impact on ldon (which was not the subject of the poll anyways). LDON (from my experience on live) was trying to kill as many mobs as fast as possible- which you are better off using multiple players, then multi boxing, because it can take too long to move your characters. Multi box works great when you pull to camp, not as well when you are constantly OTM.

I haven't played since 2003, so my impressions may be a little skewed accordingly.

My brother and I both three box, and we always drop toons to let people in.

We dont use bots, other than for rez and shm buffs.

Having tried my hand at 6 boxxing all of our chars, it is my opinion that anyone that has the dedication to set that up ... go for it. Because this server is focused on interesting encounters and appears to have minimal reward for backfarming raid mobs it seems that the best way to balance boxxing is to make the game hard.

I know there are encounters where I feel overwhelmed boxxing even three. When I was playing live I could do most raid encounters through the high end running 8-10 boxxes. That was because I was a tier or two above them in gear from my guild, and just going back for fun (note - not on spawns people would need timered instanced stuff)

That said some of the best fun I had was boxxing old raid encounters, I remember the first time I solo cleared PoSky very well. I think it is part of the charm of everquest that you can box - but at a cost. I suppose some have travel down to a T (Shin /poke) but I am always running a box off a cliff and having to deal with it, or trying to crawl with them etc etc...

Anyways I rambled alot - but I suppose the base thought is this YES lets limit boxxing, but lets do it by making content that is really hard and interactive rather than a rule thing.
