THF Loyalty quest idea.

We are planning to implement a new and ultimate quest for our most loyal and dedicated players. The point would be to make it a very long, repetitive, preferably "simple" and relaxing quest, yet fun to "grind". The reward would be an evolving item as you progress with the quest, something really precious of course (One ring to rule them all! =P ).

Again, the quest and reward could be anything, don't be shy to share with us your ideas.

I like the idea, and I love how you reward players on the server! I have the problem of having donated a lot, so, I don't know what slot such an item would go in.

Perhaps with that in mind the item could fit into any slot, so players could use it to fill some holes in their "stuff"? That might be too difficult, because of graphics, so an alternative could be an evolving augment, with maybe the additional reward of a Lillu's distiller each time the item evolves so you could move it when needed?

I think this would be great. an item that could be inter changeable of slots or even a selection. jewelry for example would be an item that could only go in finger, ear, neck, bracelet. accessories being hat gloves boots cloak and would require a more work to get then the jewelry. Then there would be more and so forth per thing.

then maybe go to the point of saying each stage such as. phase one ring farm 100 orc heads for bumbling fred in kaladim. kinda like the old belt and shoulder pads quest.

phase 2 would be clearing the the pesky parasite from the area. slay 225.

phase 3 move into lguk loot 50 frog legs (live frogs) 50 ghoul eyes (dead frogs) 25 minotaur horns.
But each item would require evolving from low lvls to high and tiers.

As you obtain multi items they could accent one another with additional stats. Now the development team will hate me for suggesting a full suit hehe

Last year some time I played around on another server, which shall remain unnamed :oops: , and they had a similar idea, something very similar to a loyalty quest. Basically it was a ring, and each time you would grind through the quest, it got a little better and it maxed out at 50 times or something I think.

I always thought it was a nice idea and it would be a great addition to have something similar for our server.

My only suggestion is make it a new zone, don't make 70's go back to zones already in use and have to grind and slow progression other people trying to get to the top. If you wanted it to be something for people on the cutting edge of progression, you could use a zone like Hate's Fury off of Crypt of Nadox, or maybe Plane of Water/Earth from the PoP era.

I like this idea something like the Forbidden Gem of Power. A very nice aug that you earn the stats on and you don't need a distiller to remove. If you want to move it destroy it and go visit the NPC and get another.

Augment is a good idea, or maybe a class oriented aura of some sort, or maybe even a flux capacitor :D

This would be nice. It would great if it were on par with donor gear so those of us who can't afford to deck out our toons in full donors can try and catch up a bit!

Or otoh, if it was potent enough for those who don't 6-box...Though I'm not sure such items exist...yet.

Here's a possible idea: An Augment (evolving) with a nice and meaty summon. :)

And my dream item: A soul crystal where I could store 4 different copies of any non-named with a hard-to-cast spell first (Capture soul). Then summon 1 of the 4 at any time with simulacrum.

Stole that idea from Exile-that indie roleplaying series from early 90's by jeff vogel/spiderweb software. But I'm sure he wouldn't mind if THF used it too....

(Btw, if the idea doesn't work for the loyalty quest, please consider it for a donor item... I'll be saving paychecks for that bad boy!)
