Wilcroon and Wilsmash only have one listed (when one is listed) - is what threw me off. Wilcroon is locked into Shar Vahl - binding elsewhere and zoning resets it; Wilsmash resets to blank after zoning.

Making a new character to test if it is just an issue around when they were created.


Aye, I'm just saying that normally 2 cities are listed and one of them isn't bind spot but the home city. The issue is still there anyhow as you reported and it's under investigation. :)

I know y'all are working on it, just trying to problem solve from my side to eliminate any user errors lol.

Chalk it up to too much free time on m hands ;)

Aye try making a new character and seeing what the /char says. I can't seem to find the issue in the code but clearly see it in the DB, just not sure how it's getting there since the code writes very specific data to the DB regarding binds.

New character - Imatest (lol) - /char gives me "You are currently bound in: Shadowed Grove"

Tested today with SoD client - Drusacig - Iksar - Nec
Did not have any issue with death - first in crushbone
Came back in - made bot - went to unrest - died - no issue
Came back in - spawned bot - went to padual - died - no issue
Came back in - went to crushbone - spawned bot but didn't group - died - no issue
Came back in - went to crushbone - spawned bot and grouped - bot died first then char died - no issue

Made another char Nitup - Vah Shir - Ber
Did not have any issue with death - first in crushbone
Came back in - bound with Chump - went Velketor's Labrynth - died still no issue

Always get the Returning to [Zone] message which in my case has been The Hidden Forest.

I think it is related to this previous issue:

The thing that jumped out at me was:

Created another new character (Renn) and changed to Crescent Reach, loaded in and shows "Entering the Arena" and stuck in a loading loop and had to close client.

Because after Wilsmash crashes he loads back in @ the Arena. I do think that I left his home city set at Crescent Reach when I made him.

So maybe it is a starting city issue? The characters who existed prior to testing have 2 places listed in their /char, but ones made on test are only showing one - which is their bind (I think) - no starter city is listed. So far it only seems to be on those two - one who was created very close to when testing started (Wilcroon) and the other made a few days later.

Subsequent characters don't seem to have the problem either - at least as far as I've tried to make it happen again in experimenting.

Well knowing that it cannot happen with current characters makes me a little more sane after digging through the code lol.

Can someone try the Creasent Reach idea? Leave the starting city as Creseant Reach and see if you get crashes upon death.

Imadrone - home city of CR tutorial on - death sends back to forest, /char reflects that before and after zoning

Out of curiosity - as it is going to take me a bit to get to 67 with a newly made char (buff restrictions) - what happens when origin AA is used since home city isn't reflecting on /char?

I feel like a kid trying to figure out why the car won't start lol - only seeing 1/100th the picture but trying to problem solve it.

Hmmm not sure about origin honestly. My assumption is that it should send to the forest but that's an interesting one to try out.
