[Guide] Upgrading Chaotic Armor To Kael

Its a bit late in the game to adjust icewell, too many people have progressed with it and it would be unfair to the up and comers. I agree icewell is too easy, I have brute forced the armor combines on a 21 blacksmithing skill character with blacksmithing aa's before and was able to complete a set of armor in a day just pulling first floor.

If Icewell can't be adjusted, then that leaves Kael. The zone has been empty for 2 straight nights I was there, that means players are not encouraged to go there because there is no incentive to be there in the first place. I'm guessing players who usually go there are A.) the ones who already have a full Kael armor set and just want to do the Giant Slayer quest... B.) farm armor for multiple bots... or C.) the ones who multi-box and like a little bit of challenge.

Give new players a reason to group up and challenge the giants

- for fun and for loot? (even if you might be able to get loot easier somewhere else)

That would be more than enough for me, but often the discussion is about taste and we are different

It wouldn't be the end of the world for me if they changed it tbh, as long as mob difficulty isn't touched. GL with your crusade 8)

I personally was a fan of kael just cause I didn't fall asleep while doing it.

Aha! That does confirm my thoughts about Kael... so the zone was never intended to be a place to farm Kael armor for fresh 70s. I kept comparing both Icewell/Kael to Normal/Hard LDoN, but I guess that is not the case. Thanks for the clarification Lillu

I'm just sharing my thoughts because this server looks to be customized well, and every little detail that I can think of to improve things, I'll be voicing it out. Giants are suppose to be hitting hard (because they are giants), so I would never wish for difficulty here to even get a slight nerf... but risk/rewards have to be balanced out with other popular zones too (ie. Icewell).

With all my alts, I found it easier to just skip kael gear and start right up with ToV armor.

If i ever bother with kael armor for alts, i do icewell, not only do i get spells and emblems, but the armor is easier and quicker then killing 500 giants only to get 80% of that mage drops :p it may take a little while and i can get the smithing / tailoring AA to help boost my chance to make it, and it helps with any bots i decide to make with said character also.

general concensus seem to be:

A.) for farming Kael armor: kael is unpopular, and Icewell is very popular.
B.) as a result of the above, tradeskills ARE a must to gear up fresh 70s and non-raiders
C.) kael is viewed mostly as a fun place to get a title quest done, obtain a barb illus item, etc., but not really a good place to get fast xp/AAs or the first level 70 armor set.
