kael armour and upgrade

Just hit 70 and hunting in kael... have a few drops but I am worried about augmenting them as I see so you can 'upgrade' this armour in shadow haven.

Question is ... how hard is the upgrading to do? Tried shadow haven could kill a few but very tough so I have no feel for how quickly I will get radiant crystals. And do u lose any augments that you place in unupgraded Kael drops? I know I can remove but I am upgrading 5 characters here.

Lastly can you get an epic 1.5 for your bot?

I'm fairly new and I'm running a group of 6. I've been doing Kael for a bit and really I'm just missing legs for most of my toons. My main is a warrior and I got him a full set of Vadd's via icewell and smithing before I ever set foot in Kael. I had every piece of Vadd's augmented with the 35ac stone of sturdiness, and yes I'm destroying every augment before I turn in the Vadd's for the infused shadowhaven upgrade. It sucks to have to go back to the lower zones like sebilis to get 8 more augs.

My experience is that the shadowhaven items to upgrade your kael armor drop very fast, and those snakes are not nearly as tough as the giants.

The general rule is never hand an npc an item you have augmented.

Dunno about bots, I dont use them anymore.

If bot is same class as you I think he can hold your epic1.5 but the quest is not repeatable, and you can only get your class reward.
