Problems after a Blue Screen

I been playing with some OverClocking on my main gaming pc. I was playing while boxing my crew and Blue screened. Now every time I try to logg in eq on this pc it crashes and said program terminated for abnormal process or it times out.

Here or some of the steps i've taken alrdy.
*Stuck Character Mover
*Patched eq
*I'm able to Log them in on other computers.
*I can't log Characters on that were not online at the time of Blue Screen
*Copied a Fresh Eq over from a computer i had Just logged the character in Nothing.
*Tried opening game from Thumbdrive.

With these steps I'm confident it's Not Server side and one of my processes or something that eq uses is corrupt form the blue Screen.

Does anyone know of anything I can try out I don't have EQ actually Installed I've always just copied the client.

Thanks ahead of time for any help.

Do you know why it blue screened?
How has your PC been performing since?
Does the hardware show the same as it should be? (ie, RAM is at the right level?)

As far as i know blue screens tend to happen for hardware faults, and most of the time it's when a ram stick dies, so if loading EQ is trying to address a faulty stick it might error saying address violated or some such.
If you're supposed to have, for example, 16GB Ram, but it's only showing 8, might be worth checking that.

Alternatively, Google knows all (though sometimes trying to get it to spill its secrets is a pain), I'm sure the error won't be exclusive to EQ so someone out there will have seen the same thing.
And if you've copied / downloaded a working folder and it's run from there so it's not installed and therefore not in the registry, then it's not a corrupt file or regkey so I don't know what else to suggest really.

Does your event log record these crashes to give more info?
If so and it shows the faulting module or whatever it is path then it might be a case of copying over the troublesome files from your working machine.

If not running any third party programs, I'd try maybe reinstalling the Directx 9.0c components that eq uses.

I would reinstall video drivers. You may also want to check your eqclient.ini file. Rename the current file and let EQ make a new one to see if there is a setting in the file that is causing the issue.

Check the icon that you launch from and see if you are running in compatibility mode - may cause issues if set.

There's obviously a file somewhere saying "no!" The question is do you want to spend the time finding it, or start anew?

Sounds like you narrowed it down to overclocking, which if not done absolutely properly can cause rampant issues.

But, have you monitored your temperatures? GPU, CPU, motherboard, RAM? Blue screens are almost always hardware faults, and are frequently caused by spiked temps on that hardware. If you aren't monitoring, I recommend it. Speccy is a great tool for it. If you are spiking temps, sometimes simply cleaning out your case of all dust, including the fans, can do the trick. That our you may need to re-seat your heatsinks (super easy, just google how).

Temps were good. I had the game minimized and was looking at some setting on this software i got with my motherboard. I hit apply without thinking about what i was doing and crash. Maybe i shouldn't of ate that weird tasting brownie before coming in that day.

I'm prob just going to reload my pc its a work pc so i think i have an image somewhere. Thanks for bouncing some ideas on the subject.
