Another ROF2 Question

Apologies for starting yet another ROF2 thread, i was going to use one of the existing but felt it wasn't worth hijacking their thread to ask a question, so maybe if other people have questions we can stick to a single thread.

My question:
What's the easiest way to upgrade? I don't want to just unzip and away i go as i lose all my UI and hotkeys etc, does it work to unzip ROF2 into the same UF folder and just have it overwrite everything? That would leave everything custom such as UI files in place only overwriting core files, but i wonder if there will be legacy files that might conflict ROF files that mightve had a name change.

More apologies if you were planning on releasing like, best practice or FAQs or something with the release :)

Cheers

100% you should do a clean install. I imagine just copying over uf would cause a ton of issues.

I'd personally take the time to set everything up again manually (the main reason for this for me is because rof2 has a much better ui, it's really easy to customise compared to uf, you might miss a new feature if you just import and I doubt we'll be changing client again for a very long time now) but I know a couple of our players will be able to help you copy across/import settings and ui files relatively easily.

But definitely clean install, just unzip the file in a brand new folder and follow the usual setup instructions. I'd also save a copy of your existing uf folder somewhere and a copy of the clean rof2 folder (just in case), so you don't need to download either again.

I have not done it yet, however, I am going to try and move my UI files from UF to RoF2.

In the UF root folder, you should see two files with your character's name. Both should end with _hiddenforest. Hopefully, at least a few things move over and I can fix anything that doesn't work.

I have already tested my UI and it works in RoF2, however, I found another one on eqinterface that I may try out.

Thanks for all the hard work in getting ROF2 Live devs :)
I rarely play (due to time rather than interest) but still appreciate the time youve all put in.

Yeah i copied over my UI_char files and the char_hiddenforest files and it took everything across, so that's cool, i have soooo many hotkeys which i couldnt bring myself to recreate.
Clicking buffs from bags = win so will have to create lots of new commands for buffing hehe.

I have been trying to recreate my UI though and for whatever reason, nothing seems to be working.
Not sure what the problem is, I've been looking for ROF2 Interface pieces, ROF2 full interface collections, interface pieces from older UIs, pieces from newer UIs.. and nothing is loading.

I wonder if anyone else has had this problem? Obviously just copying across the files i want to keep (player window, buff window, etc) just fails to load the UI.

Thanks, and sorry to keep being a pain :)

I had an issue with loading UI pieces last night also, I was able to find some that worked but most didn't.

on the UF client, I was using Emil10.1 as a UI. I tried it on RoF2 and none of the hotkey bars worked. =(

I found Nemisis_RoF2 on EQInterface and that UI is working fine.
