Coming back after a while...

I was going to login and check some stuff out, its been quite a qhile since I last logged in, looks like about 2 years.

Since then I built a new computer, but saved the hard drives. I copied the directory to my C drive, changed the THFDownloader config file to look in the new spot and ran the downloader. It copied a few things, not many and then I hit PLAY.

All I get is a black screen, no errors or anything. (This is an ROF version, if that still matters)

If anyone has suggestions on where to start or what to do next, I would be grateful.

Thanks in Advance

Classic first step - close the game, delete "eqclient.ini" and try again

Or if you wanna keep it for whatever reason, you can rename it to something like eqclient.ini.old and it'll still create a new one.

I should have posted that I already tried that.

The only difference was it went to full screen, I used to play in a non maximized window, so its at least reading the ini.

I am thinking some sort of DX issue since its a new machine etc?

Ive been searching the forums, but nothing triggering anything yet.

Try to click "Options" when starting the RoF client and re-set your GFX settings, see if that works.

Now you mention it, last time i installed there were 2 issues i had that i meant to message Lillu about to add to the new setup guide (or at least consider adding something like "if you see this error then.. "). One of them was definitely a direct x redistributable install, but the error wouldve been pretty obvious as it says like, "cant find dx9_30.dll" or something like that and there are enough forum posts you wouldve seen it.

I cant remember what the 2nd thing was and my downloads folder has no answers :\

Check folder permissions. Make sure it is not Read Only.
