Being the prime dps in our gang, how do Berzerker or BL compare to the rogue dps-wise?

I would say they are very similar with Rogue possibly being a bit better if you are going to spend 95% or more of your time actually playing it and not being a boxed toon. Really their is no wrong choice. Choose 1 that interests you and go with it. Worst case you get to 70 and a couple flags and don't like the class it doesn't take that long to level up a new toon.

Now I am getting the itch to come back lol

Non donor, the BL is going to steal the show. The T8 pet isn't ranked and is tradeable so you can get the maximum bang for your buck pretty early. They also get some really nice group buffs and in situations where players aren't allowed to melee, he can stand back and toss out some mediocre heals. In full T8 gear my non-donor BL would do about the same damage as my necro with rank 2 pet and donor weapon. It wasn't until the necro got the rank 3 pet that he beat my BL. (though once the necro got the rank 3 pet at the end of T8 he blew the BL out of the water) And note that most of that damage comes from the pet.

This was all from a year ago though, not sure how much has changed.
