Great feedback, thanks so much for your input. Everything makes a little more sense as to what I'm thinking I want to do. Still curious as to the donor bow though...

Much more important items to get for a tank. The bow should be on the fun item list.

Instead of the bow, I would absolutely go with the vial. The instant click cure/remove on self is pretty amazing for quite a few fights. Nothing like dispelling those nasty snares on incoming!

The bow is purely curiosity at this point - clearly the tank should be my #1 focus. Kinda thinking the donor pants would be first, that click is as mentioned insane and I hadn't looked closely enough before to notice the crazy short recast time.

Debuffs on pulls are something I hadn't considered. I was thinking for those encounters I'd pull with my Bard and peel with the SK since they have Fading Memories/Death Peace respectively for safe ABORT! situations. I had a Bard on live and did a bunch of raid pulling so I figured I'd just copy that practice here... but I should ask if it's a feasible plan or not given the custom content? Are there many encounters where being able to cure a debuff takes it from difficult to trivial?

That would work too. I generally just pull on my warrior since I have speed boots and FD as well. Pulling with your bard would work pretty well though, just need to be quick on the pickup once you get it back to camp. Thinking off the top of my head, only Emp S. and one of the ST dragons really do horrible debuffs that make things trivial.

Something else to keep in mind - AC is king for a tank. It will allow you to tank a lot more content. It doesn't hit really bad diminishing returns until you're around 15k+. I would personally prioritize the shield as the highest value item. Provides a LOT of armor and also a 90% DI.

The only real downside to a knight tank is that they have shorter disc time. A warrior can stay defensive nearly 100% of the time. But while the defensive discs are up I think the SK tanks better than the warrior assuming gear is the same.

An SK in VP (T6) armour can solo the xegony event (T5) without a bot. Most of VP is easier than the avatars (T5) in my experience, and you can go there without finishing T5 (in fact I'd recommend it if you plan to single group T5).

Damn this has been some awesome feedback guys, I really appreciate it! Great to know about VP/PoA too - the VP key quest is gathering the 4 fragments (fg, kael, chardok and ??) of truth right?

Mukkel now that I think about it you're right in that the shield should be prioritized higher - given that I'm 6 boxing and have wiped a few times to my Cleric instance hiccuping having that 90% DI as a bit of a safety net sure would be nice. And Dodge XII is definitely worth mentioning too. Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to justify the purchase to the wife!

Sigh. :( Or better yet use an account she knows nothing about. :(
