Red Fang in t7 w/6 box

Has anyone done Red Fang with a group of 6 without severely outgearing it?

I play Warr/bard/cleric/sham/Mage/Mage and I can't quite lock my strategy down. The fear makes a mess with agro so I've only found one way to make any progress but I'm not sure it's going to work for me as it has nearly no room for error.

Essentially I'm doing the fight with 4 toons for the most part. I have my warrior start the event and pull all 4 bats+red fang. She gets agro with cleric HOT on her and the cleric begins removing the invulns. When the fear hits, I have one or my mages far enough away from the event that can clear agro with CoH grab my cleric. My 2nd Mage is my only source of DPS to kill the named bats with his donor pet. He also. CoHs back the cleric after I clear her agro. The cleric is the only toon healing the warrior, and I'm depending on Ares to keep me alive when I can't get the heals in during a fear and whatnot. The shaman and bard don't really help much.

It's a very stressful strategy and I'm not even close to a win with it yet. Still setting up hotkeys and getting used to positioning. Anyone have a better strategy they think I should work in? Besides adding more toons, another tank, etc

Thanks!

It can be done but easier with SK or Pally.

I will bow if you manage to kill him with a warrior only. Fear makes it very hard and since I already hate this event...

Ok, now you've got me really motivated! I love a good challenge.

I guess besides war cry and the fear resist AAs there's not much I can do to help the warrior. I was thinking the donor legs or donor wrist would help some but I don't really want to go that route as I feel like I've reached my limit on donations.

Edit: I didn't realize the cleric leggings had fading memories every 20 seconds. Wow, that would be a gamechanger but it's not something I would consider, lol. It would make the healing and whatnot a lot easier as I could just fade agro away when my warrior gets feared!

Ive done it with a war tank and small grp. My bard & druid offtanked the adds. I healed the war with druid, and then healed the druid with shm. We were pretty much full T8 gear and augs at the time. I imagine it would be very hard at gear lvl.

Your setup already includes two healers and fairly safe dps using 2 mages. However it is hard to offtank on melee dps classes without a lot of lifetap procs which you probably wont have access to at that point in gear lvl. You could maybe pull it off with donor legs as they are very powerful lifetap. Also, you wont be able to offtank using a bard without an echo of anger focus, and if you have already purchased the AA for reduced agro that will make it even harder. Even without the AA and with an echo of anger focus, your healer(s) will still be attacked sometimes, so they will have to have enough AC to survive a few rounds.

If you want to box it yourself, lvling up a SK to main tank and use war to offtank is easiest route. You dont need to max out your SK in gear and augs, get him 70 and flags and gear along the way. Make sure he has all defensive type AAs, especially shield block. So long as you have SK epic 2.0 clicky and defensive disc it should be easy tank even in sub-optimal gear. I would suggest at least 2 def discs so either farm the ST ring or do the vale ring quest for him.

Have fun and good luck!

Thanks for the advice!

I actually have a 70 SK already with about 150AAs, so I could definitely do what you're saying. I want to try my strategy a few more days with my warrior though and make sure it's impossible before I move on. I haven't really been challenged yet and this is a massive one, so it's pretty cool to bang my head against it for a while and see if it's an attainable goal.

Brings back good memories of Live. :D

Dont read any strats for DSK II/HOH/Nadox/DSK III, then you will love Vaions challenges

Dont forget to check if your SK/Pala already have the Fear AAs.
