Enchanters, please read and chime in

Playing Devils advocate here...

Having a custom server where most people box, makes an enchanter a fairly useless class. You have shaman with better slows and much better buffs, Bards (if you know your class ) can CC just as well as I can, and again have much better buffs if twisted right.
What does that leave me with.

Sure my CC is almost unmatched but as i stated most people box and can easily handle 3 or more mobs.

Charm ... i have no complaints here, at least we are given the ability to charm, Some of the other servers have removed this spell due to exploits.
Aside from that I don't have a whole lot to offer, if i had wanted my class to be desired for its pet i would have played a mage.

So here we stand, yes i could just as easily roll a more desirable toon and find a grp or i could 6 box (i find the thought detestable). I play an Enchanter by my own choice.

I'd like to know what (if anything ) could be done to either... A make Chanters a more grp friendly class or B give us a few of pet oriented spells to make us a pet class, im talking about pet heals and ac, HP buffs nothing spectacular as we are able to get some BEASTLY pets.

I'm by no means trying to step on the toes of any Mage I'm not asking for burnout or the like just something that can allow me to maintain my pet without a cleric bot constantly healing.

Im sure im goin to hear box a cleric and get a dps bot. /sigh

I agree 100% that they're pretty useless. I keep hoping the illusion changes that Secrets proposed would be put ingame. I rarely play my enchanter now because he's mainly just dead weight, and charming is too hard to keep an eye on if I have 4-5 characters up.

While enchanters would just end up being buff bots, they'd at least bring something to the table. Illusions are fun, and making them actually increase specific stats would be awesome.

enchanters at higher lvl with charm are really uber dps, don't forget about that.

Yea, they are if you're not boxing. I still think enchanters are useless in their present state. They're one of my favorite classes, but the last time I used mine for some use was when we were just breaking into Kael and our tanks didn't have the gear to handle multiple mobs. After that, I just had mine on autofollow for haste and crack.

This is almost my point exactly. On our server chanters are a pet class for the most part.
After we can charm there is scarcely a reason otherwise to have one around. That being the case, Unless someone else has a vision of the Enchanter headed another direction please make us a more pet friendly class a half-assed heal or two for my pet or something of the sort.

I already have runes to toss on him and haste so no need for any of that. Burnout is a class defining Magician spell so I'm not asking for anything like that at all, I have no intent to take the place of a mage. Being a class that has only the charmed pet at this point as means of grp addition i'd love to have a way to support my pet without the need of a boxed cleric / cleric bot.

I wouldnt mind seeing a little twirk on the clarity and haste line of spells for chanters, so they could be used as great buffing class for groups and maybe a fast cast low agro slow spell...just a thought.

I agree with you smasheek the slow gets tons of agro and also would not be bad to just up the buffs so they are close to on par with shamans usability. Shamans have panther/ champion, maybe something similar for chanters ?

Illusions with special effects/procs would be interesting

We could take existing elemental illusions for example and add few effects to them:

Fire Elemental:

-DS
-Melee critical Hit bonus
-Caster critical Nuke bonus
-Melee proc Fire nuke

Air Elemental:

-Dodge bonus
-Caster Spell haste bonus
-Melee proc Stun

Water Elemental:

-Regeneration
-Mana regeneration
-Healing Spell Bonus
-Melee proc Heal

Earth Elemental:

-AC
-HP
-Mitigation maybe?
-Caster Mana Preservation bonus
-Melee proc Rune

That is a GREAT IDEA!! I just started playing a chanter recently and yes, I totally agree. They need a major revamp and those illusions are a great way to do it. I think enchanters should be able to cast these illusions on other group members to give them increased statistics based on their current situational needs.

Maybe have one of each be an "over-buff" type, like an extra 10% healing on top of your normal max from aa's/items. Also increase the duration of the boons for agro as they are pretty silly wearing off as fast as they do.

Great thinking gang I am really happy someone thought this up. I'm excited to see if this makes its way in :).
