Is this better, worse, slightly better? Than before? Need comparisons so I know which way to tweak the values.

For informational purposes, what I am doing is adjusting NPC melee mitigation. With the new code it was significantly higher than before and I am working on finding the right value in the code to make it similar to where it used to be.

I don't have any of that exact scenario for pre patch, I was just tossing info out there. The ranking seems comparable to previous parses I've done (from memory) with the exception of the ranger. In all my previous parses she easily outpaced the non donor'd monk. But for some reason here she lagged behind, is the melee mitigation possibly higher on archery than before?

I am seeing the same thing with ranged damage on the Ranger as well, Nilbus. My max hits while running Disc's like Power of Fear, Fellstrike Disc, Chaotic Wildness are hitting at max hits of ~20K, ~24K, ~30K prospectively, and before I would see more along the lines of 30K, 34K, 40K+. Another downfall seems to be the random hits for only 200 points of damage. It seems like a huge spread at full tilt. where as with a melee hit the mitigation seems to only be adjusted a small percentage from the orignal whole number max hit; i.e. hitting for 7K over and over and then a random hit for 4K. I am a 1hander only kinda guy, what is the points spread for a Zerker wielding the 2hander donor weapon with donor augs in it?

From that parse in guild hall - avg hit with donor axe was 5291, max hit 13278 min hit 366. For ranger min hit 209 - max 10224 avg 4683

Those values are starting to look good compared to previous parses that you have done from before the code. Think a little more tweaking and melee damage should be nearly comparable to before.

Anyone else want to throw in some before/after parses for me? Even if you don't have 100% legit data from before the code, everyone knows the general feel for where their damage output used to be compared to now.

Going to adjust the NPC mitigation just a bit more in this morning's patch. Let us know.

Haven't played in months, but patched my files and logged in my warrior and mage last night (8/11/2015) 10:00 PM EST

I don't know how off the melee damage was since the new code went live, but I could immediately see my warrior hitting for less, and then my mage pet DPS was highly noticeable to the naked eye, not needing a parse to verify it. My mage pet crit hits are normally for 38-40K with the buffs he has, vs the max of 28K I was seeing last night.

Glad I read the MB today and the update that mentioned melee mitigation, that then let me look for this thread. But in all honesty, it is still way off, I have no parse to verify this, I am just going off hours of watching melee damage scroll by as I play.

Editing this because I was not on the test server, are all these changes being made to the test server and that is why I still see a large difference on the live one?

The code changes are all on Live now. Any changes we make are only on live.

For the Mage pet Crits, get me exact data. What they hit for now and what buffs you are using. It's possible that some buffs are not stacking correctly or something may still be off in the crit hit coding. However AC/mob mitigation is nearly back to what it used to be.

We are adjusting it daily as we get more info. The more accurate data we get the quicker we can get changes pushed in the right direction.

I will do more testing tonight and provide buff details as well.

On a side note, the non crit damage was low as well, sorry I worded it emphasizing crit damage. When I would have buffs that would allow the pet to crit for around 43K, I remember its high non crit hits were a little over 20K. Last nights quick test showed reduced damage in both regular and crit.

What I am going to test is a setup that I have run for months when I would farm hard LDoNs. I would take my mage that has the donor pet, donor focus, and donor weapon click pet buff (the two hour one) I would give the donor RK III buffs, WoA, and buffs from both the bard donor weapons. As long as the pet had all those buffs on its max hits were 20K and most were max hits, with crit hits around 43K. I remember those numbers well because of how often I would buff and plow a hard LDoN with just the mage that would literally take me a minute to complete (kill 50).

I will post exact buffs later tonight with my findings.

First of all, I would like to thank Longfeathers for all the hard work he has put in parsing Ranger damage :D

I ran Lanx over to the Arena today to confirm, and was getting similar results. There still is a tremendous gradient between Rangers' high and low hits with both ranged and melee damage, especially with ranged. Furthermore, without using donor items as well as disciplines, baseline Ranger damage is very poor at best. I have to full burn with a full donor Ranger to get any respectable damage. I cannot imagine playing a non donor Ranger.

What ends up happening is our dps is fully dependent on the donor breastplate effect, and subsequently its cool down. We can inflict a tremendous amount of damage in a short time with Wrath of the Protector, however this is offset by the time taken to refresh the cool down. I really appreciate the time the Dev Team is taking to try to improve the class :D If I can be of any help, please message me.

I did some testing on my T6-7ish Donor bow ranger, Dragunov. http://www.thehiddenforest.org/webtools ... r=Dragunov

I noticed when the new code went live, I had some new AA to purchase, including Veteran's Wrath, which increases the maximum value of a critical hit. Keep in mind that I had this AA maxed out pre-code patch, so I had to farm a few AA and regain what I guess I had lost.

I did these parses on both T1 and T8 dummies to compare npc mitigation. I also parsed both Veteran's Wrath 2 and 3 to see what the difference would be. Here are the results....

Dragunov - Donor bow, Sune buffs, self ranger buffs, solo frenzy aura. 1 minute parses.

Melee T1 dummy Melee T8 dummy
VR2 AA - 2950.4 dps 2414.0 dps
VR3 AA - 2754.9 dps 2263.1 dps

Ranged T1 dummy Ranged T8 dummy
VR2 AA - 2767.6 dps 2625.5 dps
VR3 AA - 2699.0 dps 2291.6 dps

After I upgraded Veteran's Wrath AA from rank 2 to 3, I lost DPS and my max critical hit value never increased between the ranks. I would suggest looking into this AA further, as I would say max crit values and frequency are still very low compared to pre-patch. Then look into archery, as ranged DPS is about 100% off.
