I started writing a post then logged in and ran a parse on my ranger, obviously this was some quick fix as ranger dps is way way off from anything representing a dps class. I just hope it gets fixed soon.

If this is the new ranger, the only reasoning behind it would be that it's a hybrid and offers utility - rangers don't offer utility though. Nothing in the Druid spell line is remotely useful end game besides their heals and of course their epic/donor clicky. Let me use Druid 2.0 on my ranger and im fine with how gimped his dps is.

If anyone has a valid point, he's welcome to post it with parses, based on facts. Cursing, crying and whining won't help the devs and the community either. Keep the drama out of here please.

Man it took me until I had around 150 posts to get moderated my first time.
Dont see a ranger listed in your sig file.
Just wondering why you are heated about this as there are ways to word a post to get the message across without drawing a moderation to the post.
Not that I would know or anything... :P

Anyways, adjustments come and go. Donation ranger dps is kind of stupid good, air bow ranger dps is kind of horrible. Most people that talk about how uber that ranger is has a donation bow. Just saying, if something needs a nerf I would slap the living crap out of that bow. Or give an ever so slight bump to the air bow. However ranger dps isnt even that good when you look at all the melee classes and map out their dps.

We are working on readjusting the DPS for all classes. Things got a little out of whack with the recent changes that went into the code from updating closer to EQEmu.

It takes time for us to work things out, and now that we have the stability of the server back where it needs to be, we have time to sit down and work on this.

I put in a patch today that increases the bonus from Archery Mastery to 60/90/120% damage bonus from 30/60/100. This may or may not remain, as I am looking into other factors that are affecting archery damage such as crit rate and hit chance calculations.

All we ask is that you guys be patient with us. Does it suck to go from 33k hits down to 8k.. yes, but we have to adjust things accordingly and these kind of things take time and numerous changes/modifications.

So for the sanity of everyone, be patient. Things will work out in the end.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

Mostly confused myself.. (besides this being in the wrong forum :P)

Originally you guys added what was supposed to be a slight boost, which turned out to be too much so you dropped it back down which is only fair. However now it seems like dps now is lower than it was even before that proposed slight boost?

If all the DPS classes are being looked at are there going to be changes to the encounters? Or will they stay the same; HP wise and what not. I only ask because our main source of DPS right now is a ranger and wizard. =P

Note: Haven't checked ranger deeps today with the AM changes yet.

From some quick observations, I'm still a little confused..

As I understand it, the proposed change was a slight boost to ranger DPS, which turned out to be too high, and was then dialed down a bit..

But from a couple boss fights, haven't had time to do any major parsing, damage is lower than where it was before the first proposed boost.

Max hit on avatar of wind was only 6.1k, where before the proposed boost he was reaching 9-10k. DPS done to avatar was 1.6k without procs, about 2k with procs. Before the proposed change 3-4k was the norm for my ranger. This is with 1.5 click, bard song, shaman buffs, howl, etc.

Agreed that the huge increase in damage from the proposed change was way too much, but, not understanding why damage output seems to be lower now than before that change
