Hey,

First off I just want to say this is not a rant just some observations I have made over the past few months. Mostly this has to do with Spell/AA stacking issues which seemed to changed over the past patches.

When I first hit level 70 I was using three spells/AAs to boost my spells. These were:

Greater Familiar (spell)
Brilliance of Might I (Item Click )
Pyromancy (AA)

These all stacked great and got me through to tier 5. I then decided to get the first fire familiar AA to further boost my spells. So now my buffs looked like this:

Brilliance of Might I (Item Click )
Pyromancy (AA)
Ro's Flaming Familiar (AA)

The new familiar replaced the greater familiar which is expected. Then I decided hey why not get the improved version of this AA because it probably better. So I got the new version which was broken at the time but now is fixed. So my buffs looked like this :

Pyromancy (AA)
Ro's GreaterFamiliar (AA)

I noticed my Brillance of Might would no longer stack with the new familiar but it is what it is . This was about when the epic stopped being affected by the focuses so the dps droppe, but hey thats how it was supposed to be all along so no big deal. Then I got a fear belt that had Mana Flare 2 on it. I noticed it overwrote all my AAs/buffs except my greater familiar go figure. It was also better dps as far as I could tell. So now my buffs looked like this:


Greater Familiar (spell)
Mana Flare 2 (Item Click/Spell)

Now at this point I felt as if I wasted a bunch of AAs because a spell of mine was overwriting my expensive AA familiars. But I went on and forgot about it until I decided hey I might as well get the upgrades to the greater familiar since they stack. So I bought the Improved Familiar AA. To my surprise it didn't stack with something, so now I had spent 36 AAs on familiars and 9AAs on Pyromancy which I will never use because one of my own spells overwrite them.

My question is if this was intended for Mana Flare to be a end all spell , and for our AAs to be useless? I know our Dps was nerfed a lot, and I'm ok with what ever you decided its your server. However it feels like a good amount of AAs were wasted with no benefit. I was just wondering if someone could look into it, or maybe other wizards post some feedback please.

Be carefull with wizard's thread.
The more you talk about them, you will be told they are OP and deserve a nerf.
Aa familiar / brillance of might / manaflare stacking issue are known since a long time and all wizards (and nukers in general except familiar aa they dont have) accepted that statement.
Lots of spell adjustments have been done since 2 years to compensate or to balance this situation.

If you love your wizard toon, offer him/her a donor weap.
Also, if you do not always have in your group, give him/her a bard buddy.

Also aa's are easy to get so even if you feel you wasted some, you will end up with not knowing what to purchase to spend them.

PS: AA speaking I would love the Frienzed dévastation aa and related upgrade aa to be fixed. I know that the "things to fix" list is long and this is not a priority - especially since this aa is mire an eqemuwide issue than just THF issue if i remember well.
