If the point of the zone is gradual progression then you shouldn't be able to go through it plowing trash and then get completely decimated by nameds. And yes, nameds DO block access to the zone... when ass/supp is up, that's 3 less exp mobs. When cav/savant is up, it locks out the entire tower, etc. etc.

I'm level 50 now (took 2.5 hours to go from 45-50 so your leveling times are a bit (a lot) off), I know I would still get destroyed by quad/flurry 270 mobs, and lguk is turning light blue.

Well, won't convince you to change your mind but I certainly wouldn't want it to change. Just no need and the alternative would be to shorten the level range of the zones (subsequently forcing a gap in progression which would need to be filled). Far too much work, in my estimation, for the perceived gain (essentially, allowing a soloist to do the entire zone within a very short level frame).

That said, you'll absolutely hate the next tier...

basicaly the layout of dificulty is such that you will have to dodge between Guk/CoM and karnor untill 55+ or so before you can solo any of the named. (was 57 for my necro+paly combo before I could kill first named, and only cause it was undead)

But when you step into the next tier- Sebelius - level 45 TRASH will hit for as much as level 50 named did in the previous zone

PS. Long live the Alternative Progression

I'd say with a monk+cleric combo he won't need to wait until level 55+ to solo any of the named, just the most difficult named. I'm sure, for example, he could do the sentinel (single pull), the herbalist (double pull), scribe or sage (when not both up), Patriarch, Raster or crusader (can be solo pulled easily enough) at level 49+. The Priest isn't too tough, either and what about the easiest of them all? The Arch Magus (always solo pull)?

If you get lucky you can get a significant monk upgrade from the Scribe, too; from most of that list you'll get a lot of armour upgrades and tons of experience.

Some of the named are much easier than others, some combinations of class are much better than others. As I said above, with a two box and bot I managed to take out three of the named in Guk (with full room agro on each) with only one casualty in two of the fights, at level 41-43.

I think the key here is to have a proper tank tanking plus significant DPS, with some form of healing in there (even if only slight). With my warrior + ranger bot, or my rogue + paladin combinations I don't recall having any particular issues taking on some named (I certainly didn't need to wait until level 55+).

So if i understand what you are saying correctly, we should tone down the bosses in the zones and slap a solo server label on the login server.

I guess i'm confused, i soloed monk & a cleric bot to 70 without a single problem. I knew that i wasn't going to be able to take red named. So i came back when i had a better gear and they were lblue or green to me. Farmed the gear i wanted, and moved on.

I guess to further my point, when you get to 70 and start hitting the 70's zones you are going to find that monks still are quite lacking as tanks, even with a cleric Box untill you have 100aa's. And then, its not very likely you will last long either.

Petumonkz decked out in tov gear (not the greatest gear anymore mind you) still can get his butt wooped fighting named in valor / tov / ssra and i've come to terms with that. he's not a tank, he won't be.

It sounds like you need to find another lost soul who needs some dps and team up with them to hit some bosses.

So, I have been playing on this server for about a week and a half off and on and have noticed your corpses littered all around CoM so I honestly feel for your frustration. When you breeze through the quests, trash, and named of Crushbone then move up to the next tier it's kind of a wake up call.

Anyway my toons are low 50s and just started to kill some of the higher level named in CoM if you would like a group to take out the mobs hit me up on Corkus or Pippin I'll probally be doing that area off and on through the weekend. If not good luck. The boss's are getting more doable with each level : )

I'm not complaining or whining or anything so I don't see why you all feel the need to defend yourselfs... I got to 55 and went back to lguk and soloed for loot. I'm just saying it's a serious development flaw that you either enter a zone for exp, or for loot, but neither at the same time.

Just offering suggestions to make the server better and attract and maintain new players... if you're not interested in any of that though, that's your prerogative.

We are interested, however you chose to ignore my reply.

Keep in mind that most of our server is designed towards groups. Even if that group consists of only 2 players + bot. So its expected to have a hard time soloing.

The loot from these bosses is also very good, that's the reward. If you can kill them at low levels with a full group, the entire later progression is easier. IF you fail to do so because you can't group, don't want to group etc, it's going to be alot harder.

That's the way we want it.

Tyler, in defense of solo players (sort of), I like to say that condition of - get good loot early if you group, actually fails to live up to its expectation, cause MAJORITY of players on THF either 2-3 or even 4-6 box =) Which essentially means they do all these "group difficulty encounters" solo, entirely undermining the original intent, and greatly reducing the difficulty (for themselves).

Essentially - its not the people who group that reap the most reward, but people who box.

True grouping really doesn't come in to be mandatory until you hit the raids. And even then, some of our 6-boxers, have beat some of those as well.

PS. For the record I am not advocating any changes =P With some luck (and effort) Alt-P will address this issue by giving some of the players a different path to follow.

Yeah... if grouping was an option I would have done it. But it wasn't, so I just waited until I got 55+ to come back and get the gear I needed. Now the exp is pretty bad, it would have been great if I could have grinded here AND gotten nameds/loot at the same time... not saying anything should be handed to you, but if the nameds hit for 170-190 (maybe 200) max I'd say that would have been reasonable.
