Binding Inside Instances

Added support to allow binding inside instances.

The first thing that came to mind when I read this was that we would be able to bind in the Guild Hall. That is not the case. Will this be considered in future updates?

This suport was added for T8, and sorry about it but we don't plan to add it to GH.

If we are going to need to bind in T8... Oh crap.

You can't bind in GH since we need everyone in the server located in the 2 hub zones to see how far we can go with server lag.

Just curious, but why isn't this an option (binding in gh) ?

Im pretty sure when the GH was released it wasn't an option because we simply weren't able to bind into instances which led to the creation of the GH gate item. Now that we seemingly have the ability to bind inside of an instance why is the idea of binding in GH not an option?

It wouldn't make the zones barren by all means outside of GH. I am going to assume a large portion (if not majority) of people are still using the charm as their source of gate and not the GH gate item. This is relatively obvious by the fact that the charm gate spot down the cave is always massively crowded with afk people.

Same goes for the vale, a large portion of the people that idle in the vale are those who have used their vale gate item -- however at the same time I don't think the GH binding would effect this zone much as most people that go to the vale go there for a reason (be it ldon, quests, buying gear, etc etc) so they will likely be going there anyways.

Also consider that there will be a large portion of players who don't even have the GH option that are new to the server, leveling up, or simply not guilded. It still leaves for a large portion of players to be available in those zones.

Those are the main things I am assuming are the issues with making GH bind? I could be entirely wrong but just throwing out my 2c is all. Plus I never see anyone complaining about a barren server -- those that login to try the server out see we have a solid population from the eqemu login and those that dont see the population due to using the THF login are likely players who have been here long enough to have realized the population is solid and the server is great due to having taken the time to setup a server specific login. More often if theres a complaint its due to the laggyness of the forest (granted this is largely only an issue to those multiboxing several characters).

I personally bind at LDoN camps (sro etc) because from there I can GH gate and avoid the forest entirely because of the lag when I multibox. So this is in no way something I must have, just convenience factor is all.

As usual I don't mind whatever the result is - had time to write out an essay + curious to see what the devs thoughts are.

I do not want this to sound like a personal attack but I do not remember any posts of yours with positive input. It is all fault-finding. If the game becomes too serious it is time for a break imho

What? I post about things that I feel would benefit the server as a whole. How is my post negative? I stated my outlook on things as I generally do in posts and ask for input?

My post is in no way negative or hostile. I suppose I could have simply posted "Why can't we bind in GH?" but what good is that? Why is sparking a conversation or even a debate in some cases a negative thing? When are my posts ever something that is an attempt to do something negative to the server or community? Ive been on this server a long time, and ive always looked out for its best interest and ways to benefit it.

Because I take the time to express myself means I take it too serious? Its not like it takes time to type out a thought out post.

Elaborate

EDIT : On a side note, if my posts are not welcome and thought of as negative - I welcome someone from the staff to remove them from this thread and close my forum account so I am not tempted. If my posts aren't welcome I have no issue with not posting on the forum to try and make the server a better place. Ill just enjoy it in game and leave the forums to others.

I even went down my post history because frankly your response throws me off completely and I have that kind of time at the moment. Pretty much all bug issues / opinions on things that would help the server? You may not agree with what I think and my opinion but thats why they are opinions. If the devs don't agree then it doesn't get implemented and I have no issues with that at all never have.

Come on now BOMB he asked you not to take it the wrong way. From the sounds of it i think you took it the wrong way. I not sure how else you were suppose to take it, to me sounded like a direct attack but either way you took it wrong.
