At some point there were 100+ players in HoH!

Yup we had 108 players at the top when I checked, it was actually quite smooth considering. In the past with even 80 players we would get fairly frequent lag spikes, its much better now, although there still is the odd spike.

My ping times are slightly lower than before by about 15ms I believe too, I'm guessing the new datacenter has a better route to where I play from.

It really is saweet!

Oh yeah, does this mean we can get away with less frequent reboots by any chance?

:D

We keep debating this with the team. We might give it a go, let's say one reboot per week. But we develop new content constantly and those changes require reboots anyway so not sure yet.

Not to change the debate on the new hardware, witch is really great, but this daily reboot is right when I get to play in my pause :p let's say I have 2 hours free betwin midday and 2pm , reboot is right at 1pm :p

I vote for less reboot

about new server , I have a great ping and everything is stable.

haven't seen much lag since the change but on the reboot, why not start out with skipping a day or 2 beforehand then moving to once a week if things keep running smoothly?

Its something that we have talked about quite extensively. Right now we haven't switched over because the daily reboots keep all the numerous changes up to date. More than likely, we will begin to slow down the reboots in the near future.
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

LOL My first personal computer was a ZX Spectrum, then a VIC20, a C64, a C128 and Amiga 500 and then PC "clones". That will tell you how old I might be
