TBH if you planning on getting a toon donor bp,weapon/weapons, weapon augs and or possibly legs then any melee class would be fine and get the job done for small solo things and help to groups/raids.

I say this because beastlords are not very high on the dps charts paired to other melee and with legs/weapons/weapon augs you will keep yourself alive from procs much better than you would think. In the end like you said and I agree with "I'll probably just pick whatever I want to play in the end" for it's all about having fun and a good time so just wanted to point out if plan on donating for these item's listed any melee class will work and some are far more sought after then others per there dps, and let's be honest doing a great deal of dps is always fun and puts a smile on your face

If I were going to solo just one donored character, I'd be a bard. SOOOOO much utility and will keep you busy.
Donor legs plus a couple of donor weapons? Tasty on a bard and you'll be loved by your guildies for the beasts you turn them into.
Lots of good experienced bards on this server to help you out too.

I'm a bit late to the party but if you want to solo and plan on donating the best choice by far is going to be a melee dps class and donating for the legs. After that will be the BP, and then a weapon or 2, and a weapon aug or 2.

The buff from the legs gives you the most powerful lifetap in game, a 40% increase in chance to twin proc, and increases the critical dmg of magic by a lot (sorry i forget % hehe). With even the legs alone you will be able to tank and solo trash and even named mobs of your current gear tier lvl and even without any heals cast on you. They will turn any dps melee into a mini tank as well as increasing your dps more than any other item (save the bp but that cannot be kept up 100% of the time like the legs buff).

Also Bards get a song that boost overhaste and magic dmg by up to 40-45% depending on the rank of spell you use so they can make even more dmg/healing use of the legs buff. Bards with donor legs are awesome =)

Its true anyway that with that donor combo, any melee dps class will rock and will be loved by any guild around.

I wouldn't get two weapons.. you will never get a better weapon. In fact if I was going to solo play a char, I would be less inclined to get donator items .. when you drop that super boss and he drops an awesome bst item, you will already have something better.. (you can still donate!)
