Pet's appear to the NW of the caster. If you have an item that procs pets that attack while facing NW on a mob boss that is rooted, then the boss will use an attack to kill the proc'd pet rather than you, mitigating some incoming damage.

you will be surprised to know what you are still missing (found some useful clicks from lower tiers).

Learn the /hidecorpse command

/hidecorpse all - to instantly hide every corpse in the zone (but yours) to eliminate a lot of targetting problems

/hidecorpse none - to show everything again

And the best one:
/hidecorpse looted - to make corpse instantly disappear as soon as your character stops kneeling to loot it, even if it is not an empty corpse. You only have to issue this command once to get this desired behavior

Also, if you can get a Mushroom Veil (tradable from some hard ldons) either yourself, borrowed, or bought, its a targetable clicky Fire elemental illusion (stackable 35 DS), together with that, you can get 75 DS + whatever damage shield mod2 effects are on your gear.

Also from Guk: Chaotic Ring of the Frogloks, Clicky "Illusion: Froglok"

On this server, Froglok illusion boosts your double attack by 10%, it's very very useful for your melee's ESPECIALLY those who will never reach 100% double attack (such as a beastlord, who gets it from AA and not to 100%)

I found this out by scouring all the illusions on clone that I could find when I started playing seeing if they had done anything interesting with them. I use it all the time on my SK, and Beastlord in my original group (only melee) and will probably get it on my bard (same as beast, needs the boost) and it probably wont hurt on the others (ranger/rogue/monk) though monks probably eventually get 100% chance to double attack if its anything like live.

Froggy Illusion = DPS

EDIT: Definitely getting it on the rogue to increase numbers of Double backstabs...
