Possibly a solution would be a "poll" for up coming zone development where the player base could have some insight on less laggy zones. about a decade of raiding and not all zones are raid friendly. HoH on live was bad. But I think the worst, was from the TSS expansion; Valdeholm. Zones from the TBS era were also horrid with very complex zones, that were difficult to render without 53 other players interacting.

On the ez server, you can buy a guild instance, and a group instance crystal. You give the crystal x platinum and it spawns a group instance that is live until you die, or a guild instance for x hours iirc.. This was a great deal on that server, and allowed platinum to have a place in the economy again.

Now that is a good idea.
The only down side to that is if you dont already have loads of plat, it means its farming time. I never did figure out how to get platinum on this server. I broke into T7 so there were really 3 sources of income for me:
- xegony tokens
- tradeable drops from sol ro
- gem farming in sebilis / ldon

Admittedly my biggest failure at amassing plat was I just couldnt help giving the stuff away via /ooc. I'd rather help someone twink or help a new player with some neat drops from sol ro rather than sell it for a few k plat.

We are actually thinking of changing the instance system and making it group/raid based instead of guild only. There would still be lockouts, cost to trigger an instance, etc, but it would greatly improve grouping/raiding and player interaction at tier1+.

I'd not like to see all the guild instances go... what would be nice is admixture. Could even have a raid instance of a guild instance if not too difficult to program. Namely a Guild Instance PoA and a Raid instance. The both could have lock outs to individuals who have already been in one but offer the opportunity, for those who wish it , for cross guild raiding.

I do, however, think the respawn rates in Nadox could be shorter and the instances in PoA somehow made more available to players by making them guild instances, or Ldon like instances with shorter lockouts and no universal lockouts.

reducing the overall lockout timer wouldn't be a bad thing, maybe like HoH boss. I don't think it would harm people and the server to do that.

Lilli. this is a strong idea IMO. If you do attach a cost to instancing, can I suggest giving all of the post 70 mobs the same gems loot table that is in seb (or alternatively align plat drops with mob difficulty). Having a 55-70 zone as your primary platinum source 9 tiers later strikes me as a little unusual :)

Not too sure how to feel about this. The main problem that comes to mind is the problem that exists with the World Bosses. If they are not guild instanced and someone needs credit for the kill it can be a royal pain to try and find a time when said spawn is available. Took a few members of my guild 2 months to do the World Boss Hunter because they were continuously farmed for tokens. The other problem that arises as a result of using plat to pay for the instances, is the reliance on plat for VP armor (10k a piece or 80k a toon) which is DESPERATELY needed for DSK and Fear. If you are paying a substantial amount to enter a lower tier zone, you then get back into the eternal plat farming cycle which gets really old really fast. Granted this could be overcome with having an area that is better for plat farming aside from LDoNs or Seb. Not to mention the fact that new players might get a bit flustered with the fact that if plat becomes more important they will never get a spawn in Seb.

You might misunderstand something. Instances = infinite mobs
Like I said there would be still lockout time and such, but it would be game changing for players who can't plan on raids and just want to randomly group up to down a raid boss or clear a zone with company.
