Pets and Aggro

Hi guys, recently I was helping some friends out in ToV with my mage who has the donored pet. Every fight with a boss, the mage will draw aggro simply by casting a heal on the pet or casting a nuke at the boss. After which, the mage is completely unable to lose aggro and the pet is completely unable to taunt the mob off the mage.

I would move away, only to be summoned, rinse and repeat.

Is this a bug or an intentional change? Since if intentional, it is a very big change that impact pet classes negatively.

There have been no pet aggro changes, so to follow up I have two questions for you:

[1] Which boss?
[2] Are you certain the pet had taunt enabled?

Similarly, though mebbe not the same?

Pets in general, but very much so with Donor pets, unless you get right "in the face" of the mob, the pet will gank aggro from tanks all day long. The workaround my buddy found using a certain 3rd party program was to create a new attack key that added a "/stick 8" as the program wants to put Tanks at max-melee for some reason. So, the overall problem could simply be one of proximity on both accounts?

I remember even in live with pet classes, you got an inch too close and the pet owner would take aggro, taunt or not. Last night I was playing in ToV looking for the CotH clicky and Silver Chains...just had to kill everything cuz I do. My BL had a similar issue as the OP with my Donor pet on Lord Vyemm and Dagarn the Destroyer. Turned into an aggro bounce between pet, BL, and Tank with me trying to get distances right and an unfortunate Cleric taking a dirt nap as a result. lol

Most of the bosses in ToV are perma rooted. This means that whoever is closest to the middle of the hitbox (pets included) will have agro... no matter what.

Get your tank in there good and close and back everybody else up to max melee range and you should be fine.

First boss was Venom who was not rooted. After casting a nuke to help, he summoned me and kept at it until he died.

/pet taunt on
Will begin taunting, master!

Second boss was Eashen of the Sky who also was not rooted. I stood the maximum distance this time. I cast a heal halfway through the fight when pet was low. Again, I got summoned repeatedly despite backing off again and again without doing anything else.

/pet taunt on
Will begin taunting, master!

Next was Aaryonar. Same thing occured despite max distance and only casting a single heal when pet was at half.
Tried Lord Vyemm with same results.

Ordered pet to leave. Relog. Summon a new pet. Fresh buffs and pet equip. /pet taunt on.

Tried a random named, and again summon galore. Gave up for the night.

This was the results of last night when I tried. Before this, I never had problems with the pet aggro unless I healed the pet when there were several adds. The adds will come after me but the main target the pet was on would not as the pet would retain the aggro properly. This time everything ignored the pet and came after me over and over. And no amount of hits by the pet would pull them off me until they were dead.

It doesn't matter if I entered close proximity, cast a heal or a nuke as I simply could not lose the aggro after that.
