Back after just shy of a year (360 days)

Life got crazy, moved to texas to take care of my dying grandmother, now i'm back after about a year.

Looking for people to chat with in game or play with. I box, up to 12, and will surely be pretty rusty for a while and do easy stuff to get back in the swing of things, but I think all my boxes are flagged up to air at least via token or fennin.

If you want to chitchat or play hit me up in ooc/general. you can send a tell but as i'm going to be getting used to my boxes again and setting up hotkeys etc i might not realize i got a message right away.

My original group was

Shadowknight
Cleric
Druid
Enchanter
Beastlord
Magician

Now i've added 6 more, and made a point to not cheese with a bunch of the same class (though that makes it harder to box i suppose lol), but also to get as many different options and fun abilities as possible, adding a bard, pally, shaman, ranger, rogue, and monk.

I've tentatively set my new group compositions as follows, and i'm happy to get some feedback/advice (other than delete this class and make that class instead - i wanted each one to be different heh)

Primary/MT Group
-Primary Tank: Shadowknight
-Secondary Tank: Paladin (still gearing it its got like half my SK's AC lol.. so its really just bad dps and DT fodder)
-Heals: Cleric
-Heals: Druid
-Util: Enchanter
-DPS: Ranger (had to stick one somewhere, its new so not geared.. wanted pets in second group with the bard etc)

Secondary/DPS Group
-Heals: Shaman
-Util : Bard
-DPS : Mage
-DPS : Beastlord
-DPS : Rogue
-DPS : Monk

Sometimes i just grab 6 of these and play. The newer 6 obviously have less AA by far. If I should consider swapping some from group to group feel free to advise why it might be useful. Also, keep this in mind if you just need help with something/want some company :)

My enchanter has the donor weapon. I will probably get another nifty donor soon, something funa nd not too op (i've been trying to get as far as possible without overgearing, which is why i chose the enchanters weapon).

Though, man, if I can afford it... that enchanter donor BP piercing 100% charm resistance along with permanent charm weapon must be hella fun in the upper tiers where you normally cant get the really strong monsters charmed.

Probably the best donor item to get that doesnt overpower your character is the Ares, Shield of Immortality. If you think your guys are in T5, you are going to need it anyway to do T6 Plane of Fear.

I just want to clarify that you don't need the Ares shield to beat PoFear. I've killed those bosses plenty of times with a gimp little halfing warrior tank. The raid wiped many times, sure, but it's not so bad once you get a strategy down and definitely not impossible. I will concede that the donor shield makes it a lot easier.

I'll concede that point.

Although with a 2 year old daughter, I did need that shield because I've only got a very narrow window of time to try each night. One wipe means that the nights PoF attempt is probably kaput.

I'd gone into Fear a couple times to help someone out with some classes he could use - like my bard for example, which is why it has the regen flute that i twist into his rotation.

Fear is primarily why i made a second tank, all those death touches. though she's woefully undergeared yet - most o the new characters are still helpful for dps of course, but dont have much long term sustain and still have upgrades available from probably ST and up.

MY SK (real tank) still needs a good t4-5 quality echo of anger item, as he's no longer wearing one. it hasn't been an issue but it could become an issue. I know fennin drops a nice one (face) but i dont know if i can pull him off. soon maybe now that i have more class tricks to utilize.

One issue i remember is still not clearing sleeper without help. Oh I could trounce through everything up to Kerafyrm, but coming up with a good solid way to keep him from aoeing everybody ( i know i can hide the healers) was troublesome. AOE range seems so long its like, pretty much cant get any casters to do anything from out of his range etc. I think i may have done it alone but good lord it was a pain in the butt. It was easier to get air tokens and grab extra fennin flags when others killed him.

With a cleric and druid, you should be able to take down Sleeper without any additional DPS besides the tank if you really have to. If you have a mage/necro...send in pets but keep everybody else under cover. It will be a long and boring fight this way though. Be sure you have enough clickies or buffs to get on the tank quickly before he loses anything important.

I know you said you didn't want to cheese things up by stacking the same class but...I'd strongly suggest you get a bard in each group.

Why do you say that about the bard? I mean, the regen song is pbaoe and hits both groups, and almost all my real dps is grouped with the bard, sans ranger (and if its a ranged heavy fight i could always swap a melee for the ranger), so the dps is getting slayers song.

But its been a while so there may be something I'm missing.

The reason I would add a second bard because you could add in the AC increase song to help out your tanks. "Hayden's Chorus I-IV" or "Minstrel's Guard" for the T8 version. It isn't a lot but definitely helps on harder hitting mobs. Also by adding "Song of the Orc Slayer (LDoN points purchased spell I think)" or "Slayer's Destiny" for the T8 version you would increase your SK's lifetap and lifedrain damage and in turn increase their tanking ability. Also the added attack speed of "War March of Chaos" and its lower versions which I do not know the name of off hand would create additional attacks/procs which should provide additional aggro.

Ah.. Good stuff. Though the war march doesn't matter much with my enchanter dealing with the haste buffing.

What I really need is to set aside 130 bucks and buy a 16GB set of DDR3 RAM for my computer. 8GB just isn't cutting it lol. At least not for running 12 even with tweaking :P
