Meh, it is/was an OP aug anyways

One of the best augs in the game shouldn't be obtained from a kael-level zone. Yes, it required an absurd amount of kills to finish, but in the end it was an absurd amount of *trivial* mobs. To complain post-nerf about it "turning this into the ez-server" is pretty false. EZ server = farm completely trivial mobs 20 trillion times to maximize
essential items that you pretty much can't play without. Old version of fordel gem task = farm completely trivial mobs 20 trillion times to maximize an item that kinda slightly helps. Nerfed version of fordel task = farm completely trivial mobs 10 trillion times to maximize an item that you can readily replace end-game, but is still pretty darn good. (exaggerating numbers, of course, but you get my point.)
In the end, meh. It's just 1 aug. It being 25% less powerful is not a huge hit, and the nerf doesn't (or at least wont

) apply to those who already did their 10k kills.
I don't believe the intent of the quest was to provide an end-game aug to a trivial zone, it was to add a decent aug quest that lower geared toons can grind away at to bridge gear gaps. The stat nerf should've been expected, especially if kill count to max was lessened. If people love the former reward so much, perhaps split the quest so that you can have two options: the lesser aug for killing 5k mobs, or the uber aug for killing 10k. Personally, I'd like to see versions of this quest added to all the raid tiers where you need to farm an absurd amount of mobs (probably not 10k, since mob repops are so long, but maybe 10-15 zone clears worth of npcs) to evolve similar items

Yes, there are
similar aug quests in most tiers, but no augs that evolve off npc kills which is a strategy I like

Rewards players for grinding through zones rather than just FD flopping to bosses.
