From the journal of Sylvia El'doth, The Vampire Slayer:
'Day 216,
The days begin to blur together, it feels as if the darkness of this realm creeps into my very being. The powers of the Chaos seem to be growing here beyond anything that we could have imagined. Even as I write this entry, my heart feels a great shift in the balance of the chaos and order. I was given strict orders to keep my mission a secret, if the inhabitants of the forest knew what evil is being bred here, they would cower in fear. My most recent endevour, attempting to get past the drachnid bridge keeper, brought me face to face with my prized enemy, the vampires of Dreadspire. While they look the same and fight the same as those of the mayong catacombs, these dark creatures have an eerie aura about them. They almost seem to glow with a dim darkness that would strike fear in the hearts of most adventurers. As they approached me, I quickly dissembled two of them and watched as their allies continued at me without hesitation. Attempting to gain some ground between myself and the remaining two, I sprinted back no more than 20 yards, turned and noticed that there was once again four vampires approaching me. Had the remaining two multiplied? Or was it some cheap trick of the Chaos meant to disheart the warriors of the order? Nevertheless, my next attack was swifter than the first, catching three of them off guard and knocking the last to the ground in which I decapitated him with one savage blow. Wiping off my blade I decided it would be best to head back to camp and contemplate the endeavours of my day. However, no more than a few seconds after I turned to walk away, there was an aching pain in my side. Glancing down I saw the dagger of one of the vampires dug deep into my left side. As I turned around, I was struck with horror as I saw the once dead vampires rising off the ground, unscratched and blood-thirsty. Knowing that there was some new form of dark magic at play here, I chose to retreat back to my sanctuary and contemplate the new form of evil that the chaos has created here. My heart aches at the thought of these monsters getting out of this realm. For what chance does the order stand against creatures that can never die?'
