Update: I have 4 toons presently in the level 24 range and hitting it hard in Crushbone.
Aginor-a Human Cleric of Karana
Rahvin-a Human Rogue of Karana
Balthamel-a Human Ranger of Karana
Graendal-a Human Monk of Quellious
Tarmon a Human Paladin Friend of Aginor.
Thanks to Shadow for those buffs, that made a HUGE difference. My Monk was going apesh*t because she could smell Emporer Crush from where we were in Lord Darishes room. It took everything Rahvin had to keep her at bay. But I go to fast, I will back up a bit.
So I made my characters opting to keep them all as followers of Karana and I might also make a Bard at some point and swap out the Monk as I've heard that they are quite useful in a boxing situation. The monk is not of Karana ofcourse but Agnostic was not an option this time around. My main on live was an unusually precocious Rogue Named Benev Olence that did quite alot. He got around, raided a ton and saved many a wipe in Hate when his guild was in it's infantcy. But that was another time...
Crushbone: I did not find it difficult to get re-acclimated to this zone. It's size, shape and structure were all completely the same, only the orcs were different and they are spaced just so to not be undoable but also force level 1 characters to be watchful of where they fight. The levels flew by...ding level 4 and Aginor had enough Strange Looking Stones to get his Epic 1.0 at level 4!. He was VERY excited let me tell you. So, dingx4 and back to the Forest to train, get spells and get back. Ding, level 8 and several Clubs, Staffs, Swords and Broadswords of the Undecided AND patterns/materials to use in making the next tier in armors. Two Goblins were there as well, Foolin and Grevel I think their names were and they offered quests for rings. I am so glad I read the site! I kept everything and sold the weapons I did not need.
(The backpack given at the beginning is very nice but I needed many more to get me started without having to spend alot of coin I didn't really have. I zoned into Halas and moved over into Everfrost. A female vender by the tents there sells Large Sewing kits. I like these because they cost about 2pp each, hold 10 items and hold Giant things so you can carry anything in them.)
I found the shroom that does the armor in the Forest, it's the same one that does the Epic 1.0. Buy an Emblem for about 5.6gp and turn it in with either an Ornate Metal Rings, Leather swatch, Silk swatch or Ornate Metal Plate, (2 for Legs and Chest) and presto, better armors for all. I have a bit yet to gather but I am well on my way. Back to crushbone and Graendel got away from us and made her way to the Orc Scoutsman hut. Whack, Boom, Biff and more orcs go down swinging. What is this, a Willsapper, A Doomhollow Runestone, Glowing Fists and a Nathsar Greatsword. The fighters rejoiced and ding level 16. Back to the Forest! More spells, visits with trainers and whack a dummy to get all their weapon skills up. I actually found this to be the most boring part of the game thus far and I will still have to figure out where to train Defensive skills. I must have lucked out because a nice froggy announced some MGB buffs at the Queen. I was there! And a nice Dwarf was dropping Tae Ew Bags a plenty. Grendael scarfed them up and kept running back and forth to her bank. When there were no more to be had she dolled them out to the others and away we went once again, Epics in hand. Whack, biff, muffy muffy biff and more Orcs downed, more weapons, Ornate mats and patterns and Now Elementals and Orc Champions. A Dwarf was there near the mines where the Elementals were mining for Ore. He gave us yet another quest to gather ore. Now this is where Shadow came in. He appeared to be killing Orc Stompers up on the hill by the orc tents and huts. He bestowed a buff that did alot of damage to the Orcs when they hit us. The group left the Elementals and attacked the large Orcs in a crazy frontal assault. Graendal eyed a nice cloak the Orc Thaumaturgist had on and before Aginor could turn around she killed him for it. So much for diplomacy! Her Mantra was heard, to the Castle! And the adventurers ran around and took out the guards as they made their way into the Castle. Lots of Stompers, Champions later and Lord Darish was before them. Graendal knew that the Emporer was close but before we could blink Lord Darishes Champions were upon us as well as reinforcements from behind. Graendal and Tarmon were lost but Lord Darish was slain. Level 24 and back to the Forest. Spells, Training and lots and lots of Whack a dummy.
