Login Server is being DDoS'd

I'm not able to get in to the login server, anyone else having issues right now? I see there are players online, just wondering why I can't get in now...

When I was logging in last night it took me about 5 minutes of trying before it actually went through. I'm assuming the host he has probly can't handle large amounts of people trying to connect at once, so that's probably what you're seeing. I would keep trying, as far as I know nothing has changed.

Got it. Had to use the new IP address in the eqhost.txt to get in.

For anyone else: change eqemulator.net:5998 to 64.120.167.20:5998

Best to stick with the DNS name tho, what Tankzor suggested is good for a temporary fix. As far as i understand this host is only a temporary solution too so as soon as they move their IP addresss will most likely change and will require you to change the host file again.

What you can do

start -> run

type in cmd and hit enter

in the black box type in ipconfig /flushdns

and hit enter again.

I tried flushing the dns cache and had no luck. The only thing that worked for me was changing the eqhost to the direct IP...I definitely understand that it will need to be changed since this is a temporary ip....hopefully others do as well.
