Necro pet tanking seems to have been hit as well

I see the update says t8 pets were toned down for DPS. But it seems like tanking was taken down a lot as well.

I only got the T8 necro pet like 3 days ago. Used a few times and it was an absolute boss. But today he is dying far too easily it seems. Seems no better than my old epic 1.5 pet. His base AC was 3800 and his hp was 20k. This was with the Stone of Minion 55% pet aug as well.

Just though I'd let you know... this seems odd considering it's still a T8 item.

I just did a comparison and my freshly summoned 1.5 NEC pet has 23249hp and the Void of Death rk. i has 20149 hp. They both had 3874 ac. The ATK on the 1.5 was also 1500 compared to 650 for the T8 pet.

This was according to #mystats.

The pets were tuned down about 30% of their original stats and will be readjusted over the next few days. We find it easier to make one massive downward adjustment with 2-3 small upwards adjustments than 4-5 downward adjustments.

It's actually 50% Well, as far as DPS is concerned... (rk2 nec pet, with donor buff)

I'm not too worried though, I'm sure whatever is to come (make it soon soon soon please ) will bring my lil spectre back to its original glory, or better!

Granted my buffs may have been different at the time, but when I got my t8 pet he was around 10k dps and now he parsed around 3k.

What sort of feedback are you looking for so you can adjust the pets?
Don't have jack for parses but a few runs on the T8 dummy show a reduction in DPS by ~52%
Puts the pet below what it was 2 years ago before they got buffed up.

I know they needed a nerf and you went full on with intention of buffing it slowly to get it where it needs to be. So do you want 10 or 20 parses on the dummy and then a few hours of actual content or do you just want to see what players are saying?

Since I'm sitting in GH half the day doing nothing, dang kids, I can generate x number of parses at y length per dummy type, buffed and unbuffed if it'll help provide some more data samples

Did they really need a nerf though? It seemed like most of the complaints were due to the fact that non t-8 toons could buy the spell from another player. For t8+ content I don't think anyone would describe the pets as too strong or nerf worthy.

I really dislike the change because it widens the gap between donor and non donor chars, when I feel like it should go the other way. I know donor items are always supposed to be the best, but should they have gotten to this level? I've heard that the epic 3.0/3.5 are supposed to be t9/donor type items, and I'm hoping that creates some balance.

I personally run a donor heavy group (paladin -12? items -, necro -4/3- x2, bard -1-, berserker-2-, Druid-0-) and it's pretty sick that I out dps a little to Zero donored raid of 18... And even in turn that 1 heavily donored rogue will outdps all 24 of us lol.

I'm sure the gms have thought this all through before making changes or new content.. And I'm sure they've heard this before but I just felt like I has to say something.

Well from what I read on the update it said

in anticipation of upcoming content (New Epics/AAs).

I'm hoping it means tier specific AAs (similar to nadox/dsk3 but spread across the tiers?) that increase stats/dps of the t8 pets back to their ordinary level? This would be a huuuge deal in equalizing the DPS ranks in lower tiers where 99% of dps comes from pets, but they don't do anywhere near as well in comparison to other DPSers in T8 (hopefully this new content increases t8 version of dps? )

I'm doubtful that this is to the grand scale I want it to be, but a necro can dream. I'm just curious as to why the "nerf" was put in before said new content? (assuming new content will up the DPS of said pets?) My lil 3 box is fairly impotent now, even though my necro has the weapon which adds +145% dps to pet.

Ok, I will offer a bit of a qualitative opinion. First of all, please keep in mind right now I'm playing "roughly" in proper progression. So, my necro has T2 gear, epic 1.5, etc etc. Next, I am killing mobs with my T2 toons.

So, basically when I look at that chart I see that the epic 1.5 pet is fairly close in stats to the t8 pet. I got the 1.5 epics before i was ever able to kill emperor in Ssra.

Meanwhile, what is the actual gap between a player's power from tier 1 or even tier 2 all the way to t8? In my experience thus far, raid tiers are significantly more difficult than the previous level. That's just from 1 level to the next -- but what about the gap from 3 tiers, 5 tiers, 8 tiers?! I can't even imagine how hard t8 must be; but I do know I would be shocked if I scribed a T8 pet while on a t8 raid and found it was only a marginal upgrade epic 1.5.

My t8 pet died to 4-5 exp mobs in Fungus Grove, how would it fair on a T8 raid?
