Should I play this server?

I have never played EQ before but have heard alot about it. I have been looking for a new MMORPG for me and my friends to play and was wondering if this server is any good especially for someone who has never played it before.

if you never played EQ before, then this is a better starting choice than say P99 cause classic EQ is a pure masochism

This server has a lot of great custom content. I haven't progressed even into raid content yet and I've had loads to do and have enjoyed my progression towards beginning to progress... if that makes sense.

The community is really friendly and helpful. Active, too.

Considering that you've chosen to play EQ for the first time on EQemu (a wise choice), you have only one option if you wish to play custom content. This server is the best custom server available (and the best server, full stop, in my opinion).

I've spent over four years here. It's great fun, really well designed and tons of content. Support is excellent, active and timely. And the community is the most mature and friendly you'll ever find.

In short; yes, you should play here.

^-- What Ydiss said There's really only one server if you want to play custom content, and that's this one. Why? By far the best GMs, very well thought out content, the best class balance you'll find anywhere.

But the most important reason: the community. I personally believe that Lillu encoded subliminal messages into THF that make it impossible for anyone to refuse to help anyone else, ever. Seriously. From beginning to end. Make a new toon and /ooc "Can anyone help me kill Emperor Crush?" and you'll get half a dozen /tells in a few seconds saying they're on the way. /ooc "Can anyone give me some advice on my epic 3.0" or "Can someone tell me about the Chaos event" or "Can anyone birth a child for me?" and you'll get the same amount of responses
