Suggested changes to the token system

As a follow up to this thread I'm starting a new one so we can keep things organized. Nothing set in stone and this isn't the final list of changes, rather an evolving list of changes we plan to implement.

The main goal is to make it harder (possibly impossible) for new players to skip tier progression (and miss all the fun!) while somehow maintain the option for veteran players to flag alts. We'd also would like to give more value to the tokens by making them less common while also introduce them a new usability.

Please reply this post with suggestions, ideas and provide some details and reasonings too for better understanding of the 'whys.

Planned changes:
- tokens will maintain the 'right click feature', possibly extend the prize pool of items (already some suggestion in the previous thread)
- reduce the 100% drop rates from flag mobs
- remove from vendors or adjust price
- tokens would only flag for the actual zone/tier they come from but we'd introduce new tokens to fill the gap:
-- Token of Veeshan - Access to VP
-- Token of Honor - Access to Halls of Honor
-- Token of Nadox - Access to The Crypt of Nadox
-- Token of Deepscar - Access to Deepscar's Den (with some or none of the below prerequisites) Requirement right now are: Completion of Citadel of the Worldslayer, The Foresight of Farseer and Charm 8.0
-- Possibly introduce character rank requirement to use specific tokens

- extending the token usability (this is a new topic as we are thinking of something big here, see below).

By extending the token usability, we are thinking of introducing a new system, where each consumed (right clicked) token would increment a currency (for new rare items off a special vendor), or evolve 'endlessly' an exceptional item, offer vanity tier based rewards that you can't get anywhere else, etc. This new system would hopefully incentivize veteran players to re-do the lower tiers again. Ideas are welcome.

Again, these are just the first thoughts so please take it easy if something sounds terrible on the list. :P

On the line of flagging alts, and making these tokens more rare... is there any way to get around the emp key/ no CoH rule? It would make it easier for us to flag our alts if we could CoH to the room.

You would still need to have a key to access the room either way just to get up to CoH.

The tokens to points system sounds pretty cool. Increase the point value for each tier of token, maybe?

I agree that tokens need some kind of nerf to allow a new player a chance to see and appreciate THF tier progression.
That being said, there were some huge progression bottlenecks that I remember from 2010...
T1- Ssra: Emp key camp was a huge timesink. Maybe have more than one key piece drop per kill?
T3- Sleeper: Key quest was a pain in the arse, and dragons at the time only had 3 key drops per kill. Maybe increase to 6 drops? Having to levi, shrink and jump into that room to talk to key quest dude in Dragon Necropolis was dumb.
T5- Avatars drop 3 quest pieces for Xegony island access. Increase quest drop to 6.

Nadox token irrelevant, since HoH flag and Xeru kill gets you in.
This really won't hurt a veteran, since we can walk through most of these older tiers in record time compared to when we were less seasoned.

Have alts attuned to a main and they carry the same flags?

Adding onto my last post - level/gear tier restrictions can remain but the flag could be shared. This would keep people from rolling an inappropriate alt in somewhere.

Definitely can look into those as well.

Aye, this would remain the case in case of normal progression, but when you token flag I was thinking to have separate token for HoH and Nadox. So if you are black-flagging you'd have to obtain both to enter both zones and each zone would have the 'final' boss dropping it's corresponding token.

This sounds interesting but honestly not sure based on what we could offer sharing. Guild, group, ip address, etc? It'd be super hard to implement and then could be easily exploitable if we can't restrict the sharing based on the initial intention.

I was thinking an item that can be crafted and given to an alt, the one creating the item is the main and anyone either having in inventory (make lore to avoid multi flagging) or have clicky on it to bind to main? Potentially an alt quest where you turn in the main player token for flag sharing.

Adding in a quest to unbind where you lose all flags. The concept of someone just giving an alt to another player main for the flags is an interesting one. It is entirely possible that the flags are only active with shared IP address as well.

Hi,

I like the idea of using tokens like ldon tokens or flags.
About restriction i would say rank 5 required to use a t9 token.

About a futur mechant.

Token would be points
Vukak 100 points
Keraf 300
Dsk3 900
Vt 1000...

Maybe be able to buy points with plats also

Merchant sell t9 aas 12 new ranks
5k per rank

Evolving sol, raid,donor aura
5k points per rank



About items, new line of item/augments could be nice but i also like the idea of solteris with the forge.
Evolving t9, donors items with 5 more ranks

As exemple:
Vt chest amor-> godly vt chest
Recipie: godly forge (1000 points)+ lucid chest + random word loot+ stone of evolution 1
New item gain 10 ac 100hp 100 manga + 2 hero stats per rank till rank 4.
Stone evolution 1 1000 points
Stone evolution 2 2000points
Stone evolution 3 3000 points
Stone evolution 4 4000 points

For the last rank it s more expensive like 10k points but give like 25ac 250hp mana and +5 hero stats and a new color for the item...
Also could be nice to have a specialty
Stone of evolution of the tank +2 % melee mitigation( stacks)
Stone of evolution of the pet master +2% pet damage
Stone of evolution of agressor +2% melee damage

Of course that mean create a few hundreads of new items...
Another way would be to add extra slot with a new line of augments...
