Brand New EQ Player Ideas

Hey all! I have been playing this server intermittently for more than a decade now and recently got bitten by the bug once again. Starting from dual-boxing (using alt-tab) on Windows Vista, discovering MQ2, and now teaching my kids who didn't exist back then what it means to never reach the end of a game! I wanted to raise this post to express gratitude to the dedication to the team that works on this server and has brought so much enjoyment to many practically for free.

Now that I am getting brand new players into this game, I wanted to pick some brains on what you all find to be the most fun engagement you have found as well as what experiences you think are the most fun. It doesn't seem like pulling clouds and clouds of mobs is really considered as enjoyable to them as it is to me, but my son loves exploring and discovering really intricate areas. Does anyone have any out-of-the-box ideas and fun zones they love to explore and want to share their experience?

Thank you for the kind words TruffleShuffle. Exploration is indeed a lot of fun and I myself enjoyed it a lot back in the days. Looking at our custom zone list will definitely name a few of our favorite ones, I'd recommend visiting them all at some point. Have you guys visited the Planes of Power zones? You should also be able to explore many non-custom locations, cities too (Neriak Third Gate?).

I hope we get some better replies from players but either way I'm happy to hear you are still enjoying the server., thanks for being part of our community for such a long time

One of my favourite "exploring" things, one of my first feel-great successes and something i still do to this day is to walk from GFay to Halas without using Luclin / POP for transportation and without using maps.

Sadly its not so possible on this server as one zone i think... erm, runnyeye if memory serves, doesnt work or doesnt exist or something, so you have to take a pok book up one side and down the other.

But doing that run only using landmarks, without using maps (didnt exist pre.. POP was it that added maps?)... is amazing and still a lot of fun.

I think seeing / killing dragons for the first time were amazing experiences too who doesnt love a dragon?

And also, agree on the appreciation to the devs. I think ive been on this server, coming and going, for close to 15 years. Always scratches that EQ itch, and because we can use MQ2 i actually have the ability to login and do things immediately without being LFG / struggling single player
