Raid Zones

Heya guys, I have noticed that poair and Xegony are instanced now which i love but why not go all the way and make SSRA and Pofire instanced? This would eliminate all the guild drama over those zones and drama over doing the HH quest.

Doing HH in SSRA is pretty hard due to that fact that emp and other names are down everyday. Same can be said for chardok but that zone can be done with a full group.

People would say to keep fire open but there is alot of drama in that zone over people killing fenin for the air flags. Not to mention guilds could farm better gear if everything was instanced.

This is a private server and people play at there leisure so shouldent most if not everything be instanced for people so they can do whatever they want to when they log in to play? You always have the new T7 zone you can keep open for those uber raid guilds when it gets released.

Also for those people who insist on wanting open zones so guilds can battle it out for bosses i say seriously? just do guild battles in pvp. No need to fight over zones to prove your the best.

Just something to think on.

Thanks Veridian.

Personally, I prefer instancing, but I know a lot of players don't. Especially those with big egos who aren't satisfied unless they are on the top and are holding everyone else back intentionally. I'd expect to see a lot of pushback on this issue.

Honestly though, there's no reason to instance Ssra, and I think a fully open raid zone or two in the higher tiers is necessary to allow open raids to occur across guild tags. I just agree that requiring the boss kill of said zone to be the flag for progression creates a disjunction on the server between those who have, and those who have not. This is the reason Live headed off in a very instance oriented progression line post DoDH.

I want social interaction in an online multiplayer game, so Instancing is good as it is. I agree though that some players could improve the social skills abit - maybe THF helps? Only the players can change that.

Everyone is encouraged to help make/maintain THF a friendly place.

I'd like to see a way to let others not guilded allowed in a instance somehow, As it stands it is really isolating people.

The biggest killer to social interaction in EQ will be boxing., and its a huge plus (the only actually :) ) that P1999 has over this server. Give me a THF with boxing restrictions any day over any server. I say this as someone who has played THF 6 boxing through ToV/Sleepers.

Alot of people will always prefer boxing over grouping with others, and would rather play EQ like people play WoW and solo every piece of content they can.

Taking our guild as an example (as we have just started in Kael), we cannot wait to progress past SSra and into Tov, as we are not held back then by waiting on Emperor to spawn to do anything in Tov.

With instancing, the challenege then is in the encounters, not your ability to stay up till 5am in the morning hoping the mob spawns so you can progress..

Yea i agree on the boxing stuff. We actually limited THF to 3boxing at one point i believe resulting in the biggest outcry ever (Example, multiply panther nerf by Worldboss loot nerfs times 10 and you got half of the outcry).

I'd prefer THF as 2-3 Box server over this 6box nightmares also, but what do i know. Just a stupid dev.

Instancing ssra would be a huge plus to those doing HH and keying for ToV, definitely in favor of that idea.

I don't think Fire is as big of an issue, but I'm all for instancing raid zones.

For boxing, I'd actually like to see a 2 box limit implemented, the best servers i've played on have done this, and had populations in to the hundreds every night because you relied on others, not yourself to progress, but I don't think it's something that should be done without a lot of discussions and feedback.

Emp is killed every other day if not EVERY night and most of the time its for HH quest not the flags. So something needs to be done cuz im sure alot of people are tired of looking to catch emp up.

Also the mini named in this zone are hell to catch up aswell. Rhag 1 and 2, High priestess along with other names.

IMO the flag for air that you get by killing fenin should be moved to ST and you should get that half of air flag once u kill sleeper.

Anyways SSRA needs to be instanced or new guilds will have a hard time downing emp.

Thx Veridian.

I disagree on that one, a sleeper kill should not flag you for air. The fennin event is far tougher than sleeper, and air is a loot playground since the augs got put in that zone. If you haven't beaten the fennin event, you really have no business in air.

Yeah i agree fenin is a really tough fight hell fighting to him will give alot of unprepared guilds a hard time but they should really instanced fire to since this mob flags people for another raid zone.

Its just hard for guilds to get into new raid zones when the flagging mobs are constantly being killed by guilds who dont need the flags.

Thx Veridian.
