FAQ - HELP NEEDED

We are working on a THF FAQ covering the questions that people normally asks, such as "is LH broken?" "How about HT?" and others.

I would like to get some help on what are the most common questions you guys have seen or normally answer so we can cover all that on the FAQ. Please if you know, post the answers as well, as we will add it to the final FAQ.

Feel free to post anything you have encountered, not only in game questions, but maybe hardware problems, what clients are supported, how bad is Firenze ... you name it.

Compendiums are nice but the best way to avoid duplicate questions is to encourage people to do a comprehensive search

My favorite tool for this is Google Search

In a google searchbar type:

Advance search make people work and people are lazy. Most people do a search and if they don't get the result in the 1-3 result set then they will blame google and stop their research.

I wouldn't say people are not intelligent are fail their detective test but frankly, you can't teach people "how to search". You can or you can't

What's the required level to zone into Plane of Storm ? can't zone into PoS I get teleported out

You are missing the files from your EQ installation.

How do I get to Stillmoon?
Target the Tier 2 raid teleporter and /say stillmoon.

Where are all of the bazaar traders and why won't my /bazaar tool find them?
They have congregated in the Red, Diamond area (see in-game map). Be sure to 'click' on the yellow teleporter to go up.

Why can't I zone in to ToFrozenShadow/PoStorms/Highpass Hold?
You have a newer client such as Underfoot, and you're missing the actual zone files. Simply copy the files (should be about 8 in the root EQ folder) from a Titanium or any other EQ install that does have them. File sharing on the forums is strictly prohibited.

Why won't _____ NPC talk to me?
Be sure you're targeting them and standing very close to them.

Why won't my hp/mana reach full in the UI?
You have a SoD or newer client, which uses different HP/Mana calculations than the server. This is merely cosmetic and has no bearing on gameplay. The differences are dramatic at lower levels, but become negligible when you gear up at 70. There is no fix for this. Use /say #mystats for your precise stats.

I just installed a new client, went from titanium to UF, and when I logged in to my account my characters were not on the character list, is there something I need to do to see my characters already created?

A: You are mixing eqemu accounts with THF accounts. Please check out our player guide: here.

here are a few questions i see often....and i will add to the list as i think of some more that are asked often.

Q. How do i get back to the forest?
A. do the starting quest/talk to the queen.. if you haven't done that and are stuck in a zone and want back into the forest , just die you are bound in the forest and will respawn there.

Q.Where can i buy my spells?
A. for lvl 1-69 talk to organ(the mushroom in the forest labeled spells and disciplines).

Q.Where is a good place a lvl xx toon can get good exp?
A. talk to the 5 fairies(Trix, Trin, Trill, Tinx, Tick) they are labeled for different lvl appropriate zones.

Q.Where can i get armor for me/my bot?
A. Depending on lvl talk to the armor mushrooms in the forest/talk to Murgot in the forest/talk to sheever in the forest.

Q. how do i insert/remove augments in my armor?
A. use the augment pool in guildhall/bazaar/casino.

Q. How do i remove an augment from my armor without destroying it?
A. Donate to the server for Lillu's distiller, buy Lillu's distiller from the AA vendor in Qeynos catacombs, or obtain some lillu's distiller from holiday events.

Q. I have all spell files, have done a clean install, run the thf installer how come i still see some human models instead of xx?

Q. Why do i crash everytime i try to augment an item?
A. did you play on another emu server? if yes then delete everything and do a fresh install.
or if you dont want to delete everything make a new folder for thf and do a fresh/clean install there.

Q. What lvl can i group with a lvl 70 and get exp?
A. 47

Q.I am on the headhunter quest where does xx mob spawn?

Q. What is the spawn time of xx mob?
A. charm 2.0 mobs are 2 hours; epic 1.5 unicorns and eye mobs are on a 2 hour spawn; epic 1.5 dragons are on a 6 hour spawn; world boss mobs are on a 24 hour with a +\-; raid zone bosses are on a 24 hour with a +\-
( i am reluctant to give more, not because it is a big secret, but because spawn times and other things about quest mobs are subject to change if the developers feel the need to change them)

Q. are there any buff in the forest?
A. sune always has buffs for you!!

Q. how do i create a bot/ my bot won't do xx/ anything bot related!

Q: How do I augment my bot's armor?

A: Put the item and augment in the augmenting birdbath, target your bot, and type #bot augmentitem

Q: How do I get into Aerin Dar's area?

A: Go in the tunnel and click the floor.

Q: My character is stuck ducking/got summoned into a wall/is stuck under the world. How can I get out?

A: First try /rewind. If that doesn't get you out, you can use a wizard or druid bot to port you out by targeting them and typing #bot gate <zone>. If that doesn't work, try the stuck character mover.

Q: How can I get chaotic quest armor for my bot instead of for my armor class?

A: After you turn in the quest items and recieve a piece of armor, hand it back to exchange it for a different armor class. It will cycle through all 4 classes.

Q: Do different haste items stack? What about skill % modifiers? What about ranked skill effects like Ferocity IV, Dodge V, etc?

A: You get your highest worn haste effect, highest worn skill % modifier, and highest worn ranked skill effect. You can also have a spell (or clickie) haste, skill % modifier, and ranked skill effect.

I had a good laugh at that one, but you do know Naggy/Trak/AD aren't on a 2hr respawn timer, right?
