Company while raiding (kinda)

Ok, I'm not sure how this will go over, to be honest. It kinda sorta feels like borderline to me, so I'll let you guys decide.

Some of you know me as the (former) GM of Night Terrors, and current (tee hee) GM of Blood Tithe. The TL;DR version is that while I tried a stint in Chiron and Naru, my hours are a) so erratic it makes being a part of the raids really awkward, b) I don't like hauling backside through content just because you can, because then you get stuck in T7 following a T8 tank when you don't have enough dps/healing to finish the events, so you're stuck, and c) I like selling tokens and acquiring massive amounts of platinum.

To that end, I would make an offer to the newer (and more casual) players of THF, as well as the upper end raid guilds...let me be your minor leagues. Allow me to explain.

I am currently capable of killing everything with my boxes through T6 except Phara Dar (*sigh* clickies) to include Cazic. Let me take your up and coming raiders under my wing, teach them the first six tiers of raiding on THF, and then you guys can have fun. Everyone wins in this scenario.

1) I'm not bored when farming T2-6, I have someone to talk to.
2) The amount of loot that rots/bots goes significantly down.
3) You get geared players apping to your guilds (possibly T6 geared, if not at least T4-5), thus backflagging/gearing doesn't take up your time from T7/T8.
4) I still get my tokens.

Now, guild hopping is NOT acceptable on THF, but I don't think that's what my offer is, since I'm not asking you to get tagged, run one raid, then tag another guild to go back in. I'm offering actually gearing/flagging over multiple runs, and training you to be a successful raider with a guild that can be a little bit more dedicated to it.

Typically I log in to do a quick Xeg/Sleeper kill, then log off. However, I'm willing to do full runs of T2/3 on one night, kill mini's/Fennin another, and do T5 orbs/Xeg kill another. I can help you out with this over the course of a few weeks and get you squared away to go join whoever is doing the big league stuff. I ask for no more payment than your company while we kill stuff. Oh, and don't train me.

Message to GMs - if this is bad/server violation, please let me know and I'll take it down. I just think it would be kinda cool to do.

What we can't allow is guild hopping for flags, loot, progression, etc. If you recruit new players, that's totally fine, many players will appreciate it. If you find a few good players, you might as well continue the progression. I don't see a problem there. :)

I think its a cool idea. Would hopefully help retain new and/or casual players that come to THF. I fear a lot of new and/or casual players make it to the raid tiers and then quit because they don't have a guild, don;t want to box, etc.

I think what Lillu means is you can recruit people into your guild with the purpose of them staying in that guild -- if it is to farm or to clear zones or for them to get loot it is a no-no, as covered in the server rules in my sig below :)

Micah the intent would be to teach raiding up to Tier six, and to keep me company while I kill stuff. Well, at least for me anyway. Hard to say what anyone else's intent would be, so I kinda feel like that would have to be judged on an individual basis. Personally, I'm not /ooc recruiting or anything, so I dunno.

if you want compagny when you kill stuff , get guilded :p
it's more rewarding to teach your guildies strats and move forward with them then just beeing a killbot for others.

Firenze is right, though it can be very VERY frustrating to teach someone if he doesn't understand. Look at us, we've been trying to teach Firenze how to deal damage but he still doesn't understand how it works. We are very patient but it's getting on our nerves little by little   Thanks god, he is funny so it saves everything *hugs*

Jokes apart, it's much more fun to teach and show people the way the game works and teach them how to play. Killing stuff for others is boring in the end.

He said he wanted to teach them the tiers, not just run them through. Seems like he wants to create a feeder guild more or less. I know some guilds did this on Live and on some private servers too. Seems reasonable and I don't see any downside. I don't know if he'll have any takers or not but his plan seems fine.

I think people know when they are joining a "Steamroll" guild and will make their own decisions on if they want to ride coattails or have a feeling of accomplishment...

Coattailing is going to happen, if its posted on the forums or not.
Thanks for the memories.
