Okay, /pet focus and /pet no cast are both discovered and I have all the data that I need for them for the UF client.

I tried looking into /pet feign, but it seems to be handled by another bit of code somewhere that I couldn't uncover right away.

For now, I am going to work on getting focus/nocast working on UF and then ill look into getting it operational for the other clients as well =)

Another quick update: Figured out the offsets in the code for focus and no cast for the Titanium client also.

Next thing I have to do is develop the server side code to handle the commands. They should be pretty simple. I can foresee a few hiccups with focus, but shouldn't take me to long to hash out the issues.

I'll let yall know =)

Update:

/pet no cast is functional in both UF and Titanium. Using the command will make your pet respond with, "I will no longer cast spells, Master!". At this point the pet will no longer cast any spell in their spell list or cast any weapon procs.

To turn off no cast, it's as simple as retyping /pet no cast. When the command is used a second time, the pet will respond with, "I will now cast spells, Master!"

Still working on /pet focus =)

Any mind explaining exactly how focus works on live? Did you use it instead of attack when engaging mobs?

I dug up this old post from 2008 regarding /pet focus [on/off] on live.

Pet Focus:
Pet Focus is now a state that you turn off or on. Once pet focus is turned on, if you choose to attack an NPC, it will focus on that NPC regardless of other aggro's attacks on that NPC, etc. Once that npc is dead, the focus target will be cleared and your pet will continue to kill everyone on its hatelist is a normal fashion. When your pet is in a focused state, every NPC from then on out that you tell your pet to attack will be considered a focus target. When a mob dies that is focused on, the focus target will then be cleared.

So as far as I understand it, it's /pet focus on, then issue out attack commands.

Hmm, I remember using pet focus differently on live (albeit pre 2008).

From what I recall when the pet is in /pet focus, the hatelist it keeps is set as you tell it to attack a target. Queuing them up and killing them in as you told it to attack

So on a simple fight like Aary in ToV, you would /pet focus, then /pet attack while targeting the first drake, then the second drake then aary. Pet would then run to drake 1, kill it, move to drake 2, kill it, then move to aary and attack it. I believe that functionality was retained in the qattack command.

Specifically, if you can make #7 work from below, pet users will have your virtual babies.

beastlord forums in 2008 wrote:After the new pet functionality has been pushed, the following are some of the new pet features you will have!

1) New pet UI! You will be able to assign buttons to all pet commands in the pet window!

2) Pet target will be displayed under your pets hp bar so you will always know who your pet is attacking!

3) Toggleable buttons throughout the pet UI for sit/stant, focus, hold, taunt, and spell hold!

4) New pet text based commands! You will now be able to toggle all states off or on, or simply toggle the state with a pet text based command. For example, /pet focus on, /pet focus off.

5) New pet attack command will switch your pet to attack the new target regardless of AA's or level. Great for new and low level players! (Old command will still exist as qattack which is what it always should have been).

6) New pet hold functionality! (Ever had your pet not hold properly? Ever have your pet run off and aggro a mob somewhere far away in the zone? Ever have to spam pet back? Well, not anymore!)

7) New pet focus + pet hold functionality (call this pet state "pet convergence" )! This is what the players really wanted, now, when you turn on both the focus and hold states, your pet will attack SPECIFICALLY what you want it to and when finished won't attack or aggro or do anything else! No more pet back, no more of your pet doing anything but what you exactly want it too! Pets not allowed in raids because they might run off, aggro some mobs, and wipe the group? Nah, this ain't happening with the new changes!

8) Improved /pet back off. Fully clears the hate list and stops your pet from doing whatever it was doing before.

9) Bug fixes for: focus failing to work properly when aggroed in certain situations, PERSISTENT pet states now hold on zoning, on logout, and are will now be 100 percent persistent.

I'll do my best. Sounds pretty simple to set up honestly.

I'm still working out a few kinks with pet no cast. its functional, but there was one small hiccup that I believe i encountered. Just need to verify.
