An idea to entice more players to do adventures

Now this idea isn't for those of us that raid, but towards those that solo/duo/whatever and will only run normals.
How about lower cost items that are more easily attained with the points that they earn.
I mean the gear that is available is great, but it is time consuming to get.
How about itemization geared around tier 2 that costs less. I think that this would allow them to attain upgrades more suitable to their time frame.

the smaller boxes near the jewelery vendor (on the bed) have the cheaper items.
Look for the smallest chest. it has 150? priced stuff.

The chest with the items that cost 150 points only has augs for slot type 2 which is for the gear you buy for 500 points.

Where's a list of items you can purchase through LDON, also how difficult are the dungeons? Give me some of the names of the zones and I can look them up on the DB... I don't know jack about LDON.

You can right click the chests for a list of items. Easy LDoN's are meant for small groups of level 70's in Seb gear. Hard LDoN's are for full groups of raid equipped characters ... approximately PoFire tier.

Oh I see what you mean, yeah I think a lower tier suit with lower cost is a good idea. Also, priority on a shoulder item please they are a pain to get.

This is the problem, for me. 150 points seems reasonable (less than 10 runs) but when you add on top of that the cost of the item you must buy to use it?

That's still more than 32 runs.

For one augmented item?

I just don't see the reward justifying the effort, seems a bit too much like grinding to me; I'd see Ldon as being worth a quick run through for the content alone but I won't be wasting all that time on one item, not when I can spend a much shorter period of time doing the normal content.

I've spent only three sessions in Icewell and have already managed to get enough drops to fully suit out about 5 characters (tradeskills willing).

I mean, if I saw players on the leaderboard with multiple thousands of points then perhaps I'd consider putting that effort in but even the highest have only enough points for a few lower level items (or one single big item).

And that's almost 100 runs +

I think I'd get burned out at that rate; don't think I've done that many runs in any zone yet (not nearly).

Ldon win points will be upped to 60/25 hard/normal after next reboot.

I however would like you to see the big picture. In ldon you can get raid quality gear, actually the best gear in-game, solo. That should explain it all. If ldon would be easier, raiders could start to complain. Vice-versa.

anyways, everything is a matter of taste really. Look at the other custom server (without name), they have an insane (and imo pointless) timesink implememnted, players still enjoy doing it (well seeing the population they have..but I doubt anyone enjoys that anyways).

Honestly 25 points just isnt enough of an incentive to make LDON's appealing to me. 30, maybe, but 25, no, not really enough. Its tough to find groups here, even 2 boxing + 1 BOT easy LDON's take a long time to do. It would take months to get gear even at 30 points.

The prospect of boxing my way through couple hundred LDONs for gear is just not appealing to me, I might as well just play real EQ then if I am looking for the tedium and grinding of the old game (which is the main reason I left this winter after playing for nearly 11 years straight).

Couple that with the fact that LDON is buggy still (like the collect I did for 45 min and got 1 items total (the one I was talking to you in tells about Lillu)), going through that much work to get no points from a bug or only 25 points just isnt worth the time.
