Plane of Air trash

So what is with the 2 hour respawn on trash mobs now?

PoAir augs are to become a thing of the past? treasures of the lucky?

Can tune aug trash if there are any that are overly rare or if some trash is not dropping quest items. ST has an 8 hour respawn btw =P

Don't think it was ever intended to kill one set of avatars, sit in one spot farming augs then warp straight to Xegony keyed or not and loot pinata her daily in 20 minutes. Going to have to put at least a small amount of effort (14 trash mobs) or move through the zone and clear for augs. I have doubts anyone will be clearing 394 npc's in 2 hours.

This also makes avatars and other mini's targets of opportunity and allows players to catch up if a guild is waiting on Xegony or another island for them

Pathing is also being worked on to keep npc's from falling through the floor

The main cause for concern was that some items, particularly phoenix drops, were already so uncommon.

Not being able to farm distinctly for the set of items yu need is going to be painful.

Throw in the mix of all the mobs that dont drop augment items and the fact that augment farming has been nerfed is just plain as day.

Also I do fail to see how reference to Avatars is relevant.

Checking on the Phoenix loot tables to make sure all of them (with the exception of event NPC's) have aug drops, should be fixed shortly.

I actually can't find an issue with the drop table, it has the same amount of items and the same % as Castellan's and every other aug drop NPC. There are also more phoenixs then almost any other type of mob in the zone.

I count 37 Air Phoenix Nobles and 11 breezewings alone, all very close to Phoenix island and all with a 20% drop chance.

How many items are on the 20% aug bit table? At least 7. That's at best a ~2.9% chance for a specific bit.

And now the respawn is 8 times as long. That is an 800% increase in rarity.

It just means you need to clear different parts of the zone and not sit on one island. This isn't upper guk.

You are correct, 2.8% chance of any specific item, same as all other aug mat's. You only need 1 piece specific to phoenix's to create an aug, and there are over 50 phoenix's that could be easily cleared within 2 hours. Mathematically speaking you will still complete any phoenix aug within 2 hours and likely gain more variety of other items and aug mats.

Plane of Air has been constantly used, abused and exploited in multiple and creative ways. I know these are end of the world changes, but give it a week and try it out. If there is still an issue I can review the actual drop %'s

Mathematically may be what mathmatically may be.

Real experiences though at the old spawnrates, of clearing the phoenix spawns for several (ten plus)rounds of the entire area, several times in a week for a couple weeks and still not seeing the one you need, such as the back item...well it paints a dreary picture indeed.

I did find and fix an extremely small issue where 1 phoenix item was to common and caused other parts to be overly rare, there should be a relatively even drop rate between all items now. This was a very slight change, I wouldn't expect much, but .2 is still a lot when you are talking about 2.8% total chance

Changing the spawn timers on trash has no bearing on most of the above "issues". "Issues" that I can't find any threads on discussing "necessary" fixes.

One set of avatars, no longer triggered since they are in guild-instanced versions of the zone, only keys 3 players. I suppose it possible to take Xeg down with three players and potentialy three bots, but then if you could, why would you bother?

Moving the port npc ... again 14 mobs will just be a stutter-step for any guilds farming Xeg, so its like whatever.

Mini's as targets of opportunity ... just as easily fixed by reducing their spawn percentage since again, the zone is guild-instanced,

As for aug farming ... what's the point of forcing movement through the zone when the aug pieces are restricted to certain areas ... ie as mentioned above, the back piece only drops from phoenixes, why would I want to have to deal with any other mobs if I recently looted a back slot upgrade? Especially when a week ago I could simply farm a particular set of mobs for the drop I needed and hoped it dropped. Now I will only kill the other mobs if I happen to be that bored, but if I do, I potentially screw a guildie that might need said mobs and their drops as not everyone plays the exact same times each day.

I have to say, I'm confused about the "need" to fix things no one's complaining about while things like trash mobs summoning players (into walls or summon based ping pong) in zones like CT (I know I know I know its not on the path, but the tailors need the drops for ... tailoring) continues. Not to mentioned enchanter-charmed mobs summoning named mobs into walls and the hilarity that then ensues.

Generally items and mobs get nerfed in a weakening state after a guild or guilds have had their way with said encounters and moved on to bigger and better things. Making PoAir trash and their drops effectively more rare is counter to that concept. Mind you, this is a zone that still has two more raid zones before the existing end game raid zone. What's next, triple the hps on ToV dragons?
