I’ve got another round of changes set for tonight.

-Lowered # of proximity updates from 8/s to 4/s
-temporarily deactivated worn2 illusions (checking updates vs no updates required on this)
Oh the fun you all are going to have in DSK3...

Hmm...

I hope the illusions do come back ... I still miss the raid auras, and it's been a while since they've been turned off :( I'll trust you though... this time!

Also though, Linamani is still a beautiful vampire (Lucid Belt of Llivnu) when logging in today - so unless they are turned back on...

Did zenurix event, desync'd on both the minibosses that spawn before Zenurix. Will try VZ/TZ/Rallos later just to keep consistent updates on it.

I do not have any of the worn2 illusions so have no way to test any impact that may have on things.

It wasn't so much that they were turned "off", it was more that i disabled a check in the client processes that would check for a faulty illusion state (which can occur with the worn2s). I was curious if it was sending illusion packets to nearby clients when it wasnt required (hence the disable/check).

Please keep with the VZ/TZ stuff. Its easiest to test since there are limited scripts happening in those zones.

Also, can you let me know if the lag is occurring during, before, or after combat? There are a few things in combat systems that I am evaluating also.

It only occurs during combat.


The only time I have had it occur when I wasn't in combat was when I entered HoH with 40+ characters in zone. However I assume the other people in the zone were probably in combat which likely has an effect on it. Finishing up chaos and ill head to VZ/TZ/RZ.

As far as after combat is concerned once we desync im not sure we ever really catch back up. I think they stay lagged out and end up having to be relogged to fix.

Clearing through vallon its still happening. It seems to be a larger issue the more mobs I have engaged not sure if that helps any. Single pulls will still desync but not too badly, only a percent or two bounces. If I pull larger pulls 5-10 the desync is much greater with upwards to 50% bounces / large spell delays.

Did Vistrinda as well which obviously has more complex scripts going on than VZ/TZ and basically desync'd to the point where everything was so delayed it was impossible to heal and subsequent death occured.

Well with whatever changes are happening, this is the first time I have ever desynced / lagged out playing my 6 characters in VT. Was trying to kill Talriem and completely lost sync and died/dc'd. I know this isn't relevant to Zek fights, but just some feedback from someone who isn't playing that many characters in a zone that I've had no problems in the the last several days.

Aye I’ll be pushing another change later to reapply the old stuff that was disabled (since it didn’t isolate the issue).

At the same point I’m going to be making a few changes in the combat coding...
1) going to reduce, maybe disable a large portion of the combat messages (temporarily-and maybe only in one specific zone). Need to know if it’s a combat or log issue before I press on with next set of changes.

Thanks again for all the effort/reports. I wish I could test this all myself but being euro scum now I have a near perfect connection with the server and almost never lag/desync unless it’s a script issue.

But alas-we will find the issue and fix it! US players shall rejoice!
