Ring War, Velious era, Coldain Prayer Shawl type of event....

Definitely -not- a solo undertaking, not quite sure how many players would be the optimal number.

...but have it be Players vs. Satan Clawz' evil elves. And yes, I'm suggesting an evil cat-type creature for one of the villains.

And for a solo-player, someone mentioned the 12 Days of Christmas collection idea, that actually sounds like it could be a ton of fun.
I need a scorecard to keep track of all of my alts!!

Good call on the ring war event, really miss that event as many others have said before. I realize its not a custom thing but man it was a fun event running around like crazy and definately not something a single box crew could handle.

The biggest issue with the last event was the lag induced by the number of folks in the zone. All of the ideas mentioned so far sound great, but again you're going to have lag as an issue, especially as more and more people come to the server (more people = good).

I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to have the final step of the ring war (or whatever the raid level portion of the event ends up being) take place in an instanced zone somehow?

Otherwise I'd ask/recommend that the gathering type tasks take place in one zone and the raid level mobs pop in another ... ie in retrospect having the Halloween undead mobs pop in both north and south karana, the kill tasks and aug drops drop in south K whereas the nk mobs neither count for kill tasks, nor drop anything other than a handful of plat and serve more as an obstacle to deal with while fighting the named. Everfrost and Perma could work the same way for a winter wonderland of fun (and death). Chaotic Vox could get a vacation for the duration of the event.

agree with brace and like i posted a few times - new server hardware or not - it really is best to spread things out 10-15 people in 3 different zones is much more stable for everyone than 30-45 people in 1 zone while your trying to kill a raid boss too.

The Halloween event lag had little to do with how many people where in the zone, the most I ever saw in the zone was around 40. When there were only 2 or 3 and even none my chars would become lag locked as soon as nightfall hit. My only explaination would be the extreme number of mobs my already high pinged connection had to keep track of in a huge zone. I would recommend faster spawn times fewer mobs if that is the case.
